Anyone who creates an FPL account can join our league. As I recall you have to go ahead and draft a team first (there is an Auto-Select button get started quickly) and then you can join leagues.
All you need is an e-mail address to create a team. No fees. No strings attached. You can opt out of any e-mail spam you don't want.
