They are gonna crush LSU, but that shouldn't change your reasoning. LSU has a solid but not exceptional running attack with a solid but not exceptional QB. Their defense is great but they are gonna be out their best player in the secondary until the second half because of a targeting penalty. It may end up close, but there are alot of things going against LSU already...

Devin White is an ILB. Greedy Williams is their best player and he’s the best corner in the country.

I disagree.
You seriously think we only beat Bama once or twice, given ten tries?

Ole miss has beaten Bama twice in their last 10 meetings. LSU and Auburn have also each beaten Bama twice (or more in Auburn's case) in the post 2007 Saban era.

You are both massively overrating Bama and massively underrating Clemson. Yes, this is a very explosive Alabama offense, but the defense isn't up to par with Saban's usual offerings (hence Saban's willingness to let Tua throw it all over the place), and they've yet to face a bit of adversity. The strength of their running game has yet to be tested. Saban deserves the benefit of the doubt, but you give this year's team too much credit.

All that matters is that we are better than them for 3.5 hours on a given night.

With TL and no Deon Cain I think Saban would agree. He knows we have a QB now that can take advantage of their weakness. Last year we had no chance.
I don’t disagree but I would also think he’d feel they have a big advantage with their DL vs Clemson’s OL. I was gonna say dominate but I hope it wouldn’t be as bad as last year plus Trevor should at least keep them honest. You know they’ll try to take Trevor out of the game like they did vs DW in Tampa.

Question though, what is their weakness defensively that Trevor would take advantage of?

Absolutely, and I lean towards 9 times out of 10. No clue what Auburn and Ole Miss beating Alabama in past years past has anything to do with this year. This is the best offense in college football history. The concerns about the defense are vastly blown out of proportion. There isn’t a single player on their defense who won’t play in the NFL. Only a few won’t be top three round picks (Shy Carter and Savion Smith, although Smith’s stock will be vastly improved if he moves to safety next season). They’ve had growing pains because of all of the players who are getting their first taste of substantial playing time this season. But by the time the playoffs roles around, they will be the unequivocal best defense in the country. The only area that Clemson’s defense is marginally better than Alabama’s is the DL and that is splitting hairs. They are significantly better than Clemson’s defense in every other area. The only valid point you made is that they haven’t faced adversity yet.

There should be a space between #1 and #2 as well, because there is. There is not anyone in the nation on the level of Alabama. Experts are now hyping the Alabama and LSU game. Alabama is going to crunch LSU. Yea LSU's defense is really good, so Alabama will not score their customary 50 (+) points. But LSU may not score at all, until Alabama's 3rd string is in.
Swinney and staff and our team disagree with you.

Do you realize that Bama plays 44-45 players only even when they are blowing out the opponent?

Do you realize that Clemson plays 85 kids in a blowout game and even 65 or so even in a competitive contest?

Would you know what that difference means?

This is ironic: "This is the best offense in college football history. The concerns about the defense are vastly blown out of proportion. "

easy big fella, let's let your boyz get through more than half a season before we crown them the best offense of all time. geez.

This feels like Lamar Jackson and Louisville's offense in 2015 for some reason.

Everybody on Game Day was predicting a close Clemson victory or wouldn't be surprised if NC State pulled the upset . Taking State & the 17.5 seemed to be a gift. Then their odds guy " Bear " stated that the spread was the tease of the day and Clemson would blow the Pack out. Pretty good prediction.
