Trey Gowdy leaving congress after his term is over

One of the best. He just got tired of dealing with the system. He’ll be a judge...bank on it. Also bank on William Timmons taking his seat
Trey is not going to the bench. He’s going to practice law. He is a huge loss not only for the Republican Party but for Congress. He did a fantastic job and we should be proud of his service to our state and to the nation. He will be sorely missed.

Is this where I bring up your post-to-like ratio and mention message boards aren't for you?

Or is that adolescent also?

Stick to one way conversations.

Oh, snap! @johnhugh, he totally slayed me too. He mentioned my like ratio in what is another classic beat down. He's too much for the likes of us.

Why, because he has money?

What has he ever done?

If by he you mean Timmons, then I totally agree with you. I posted that because I was told that he already received a call from the SC GOP telling him that he was "their guy." That's just what I heard

Word last night from an attorney is that Trey is gonna be assigned a US District judgeship, and in a few years, be moved to the Supreme Court.
We'll see.

I thought he might go to the 4th circuit, but I saw online last night that WH counsel, Lindsey Graham, and Tim Scott all asked him to take one of the open seats and he turned it down to go home, so you may be right

You boast about your real world experience and then brag about your post to like ratio?

i'll post his response for him since he typically goes MIA when confronted with something he has a hard time disputing:

Wow. Message boards are really not the place for liberals. Run back to your safe space now.

Your beta ideology is dying out. You'll see.

That was his plan at one time. He no longer wants to do that. I'm pretty close to him.

What do we have to do to get Graham to quit? I hate losing the good guys but the junk keeps on going
Those of you who are always beating up Lindsey Graham are not really paying attention. Graham is the only SC representative, house or senate, who tries to work across the aisle. The others are mainly about themselves only(party) and not about the people. Washington politics are politicized, polarized and extremely, extremely partisan and have been for many, many years. As I have said before, if we can't put together a strong independent party in this country, we will continue to sink into the muck & mire. The majority of the people in our country are moderate near the middle people. We want those we elect to work together to move the country forward which has not happened. We must reduce the debt, reduce spending and not overregulate but we must have regulations; otherwise, we will continue to get screwed over by the politicians in Washington of BOTH parties. Never forget that over 60% of our elective representatives in Washington are millionaires or more. Whose interests do you think that are going to look after? I'll look forward to reading your responses. Term limits are greatly, greatly needed.

Trey Goudy is a good man but he won't be missed because republicans will elect someone just like him who will go to Washington and do nothing to move the country forward or do anything that is in the long term best interest of our country. And I can assure you that democrats would do no better.
