Trump Admin Includes Atlantic Reporter in Airstrike Plans Group Chat

Again…you think by signing EOs on things he doesn’t have the power or law to support is “positive action.” He will not win most of the lawsuits…because they are actually looking at the law.
I’d have probably thought about that before Biden pardoned himself.

Trump has a blank check

Earth to hopefultiger13.....they have extensively explained it and said it's being investigated more and will provide any updates found. The problem is the libs can't take the explanation and just move on. They want to inflict maximum damage on Trump and it's that simple.
Uhhhh. No. While I agree with the part about inflicting maximum damage being what the Dems want. Exactly like Republicans do when they get there chance. A sad observation on both parties. As I've said before, I personally don't think the information they were texting was that big a deal myself. It's not as if we were attacking the Russians or Chinese, where that information could have made a difference. In this case, those folks don't have a prayer of stopping an American attack. That being said, there's NO WAY that the information on US attacks against an enemy wasn't classified before the attacks begin.

My point has been that instead of just saying "Yep, our bad. We'll fix that going forward." There was all this attacking of the source and how he was a peddler of garbage and dishonest and just flat out lying about that there was no sensitive data there. THAT'S the stupid part. They will get that fixed, I have no doubt. BUT now when the Sec of Defense comes back and says it's all good, he's got no credibility, b/c he lied about it already.

Tulsi also either lied before congress or is incompetent. You can't be the DNI and not know that discussing an attack before it happens is classified.

I'm with you.

My comments are probably a couple pages back in this thread by now, but i didn't like SecDef's comments either. He's not an opinion commentator. He's the SecDef . He could be doing great things in the building but if not a steadying force in public its not in line with what the public on both sides of the aisle expects.

That reporter could be a partisan hack, but it's not the SecDef's role to attack and it flies in the face of common sense to do it when the admin has it's ass out and the reporter could make it worse (and he did). A simple push back/clarification on the "war plans" symantics and maybe small pushback if technically not "classified" would be appropriate. But regardless it is /was a convo that shouldn't been in the public domain so admit that its a fvck up and reassure the public that it will be investigated an measures put in place to prevent a recurrance. It's not that hard.

Heck... if the reporter didn't get attacked maybe, just maybe, there would have been a small chance that the transcript might not have been put out in the public domain. Given that it was a "no harm" situation, the story could have still been a story without the physical transcript. .

Here is more than likely what happened.

When I first heard about the Signal chat, I thought “how did a reporter get added to a small chat with 4 or 5 top Trump admin officials without anyone knowing?”

Then I saw the actual group text list

It had almost 2 dozen people in it, mostly non-senior folks and many only identified by their initials

Now I’m almost certain about what happened - a corrupted staffer added the journalist as part of a Deep State hit to attack the Trump admin

Fire whoever did it

The problem here, is that classified materials were never allowed to be on signal. So you can hem and haw but you cannot escape that fact.
