Does it matter to you that the State Department gave them the phones, the phones had Signal pre-installed. They were told to use signal to communicate. The Biden Admin communicated in the exact same fashion. Same phones. Same app.

The world is dying for authenticity. As another posted said, in a way this makes the Trump admin look authentic. What you see in front of the camera is what you see behind closed doors. If democrats keep pouncing on a relatively minor mistake, the narrative will change on them.

I guess I would be surprised if they were told to discuss classified information. It wouldn't surprise me at all to hear they were told to text via Signal. As in, anything you would've previously texted, now use Signal. Not as in, anything you previously wouldn't have texted, feel free to discuss via Signal. All the same standards of discussing classified information should've applied unless specifically said otherwise.
Again, usage of Signal is not an issue. It is more secure than SMS.

Genuinely curious. Do you think the 1500 people charged with federal crimes should have been put in prison? We’ve seen the footage that was blocked by the J6 committee. I guess I just mean, because I use Signal with my friends, if I'm going to be late to something, and I want to let someone know when I'll be there, I'm still going to say "I'll text you" even if I'm going to use Signal to do so. That's all. I agree one is worse, which is why I don't think it would've been ridiculous for him to reply something like, "we were using a secure messaging app" or something along those lines. Yes, I get what you are saying. But I am trying to be realistic, in admitting guilt, it would be a step in the right direction for an administration that has never owned making a mistake. Mistakes are made every day but all of us. The error and documentation is so overwhelming that you would have hoped they would do what is obviously needed to most. Their credibility has taken a huge hit in my book.

Your second thought was a mistake was made. Yes, there was however at this time the reason for this SNAFU WITH THE culprit has not been clearly identified and exposed to the public. This could be an innocent mistake or Lord Forbid a planned resistance counter op to Hurt Trump and his work. It would not surprise me but I have no reason to suspect that. Thorough investigation needed.
One thing I differ from most people is depending on the circumstances of how this came about that generally no firing is needed. What is needed is a lesson learned and upgrade to procedures and training. This event may have happened before and concealed by the liberal left media. I would think that cell phones, text messaging, maybe WhatsApp, etc are all used by both administrations so I'm confused as to what that has to do with anything? It would only matter if certain apps or means of communications were approved for this type of communication. Text messaging is allowed communication. Just not for OPSEC type matters. Would think it would be the same for Signal right?
