Trump finally speaks...

This is a bit off topic, but a quick question. Everyone is saying how close this election was... and that's true. Assuming everyone holds what they currently winning, it looks like the count could be about 306 to 227 or so. Those numbers look familiar and they should as that's exactly the same score as the Trump/Clinton election ended up with... with of course Trump winning.

Now Trump told us repeatedly what a huge landslide win he had back in 2016 despite losing the popular vote. Here's just one quote from a FoxNews interview.

"I think the Democrats are putting it out because they suffered one of the greatest defeats in the history of politics in this country." Donald Trump, 2016.

So given the same score AND winning the popular vote, do you think that Trump or anyone on this board will ever admit to one of the greatest defeats in the history of politics in this country? Asking for a friend...

I feel really sad for MAGA folks. They truly have splintered from reality and think twitter, facebook memes are the truth. Sad sad decent into madness.

What about Zero Hedge and actual data science? Still no good?

I don't trust Tyler Durden since he's actually a fictional character in a book and movie. Why would you trust a fictional character to give you good information?

"a data scientist who wishes to remain anonymous, ."

Wow..... I don't want to sound mean, but if your bull shit detector isn't going off reading this nonsense then you might be so biased that its hurt your ability to think. A scientist... who wishes to remain anonymous has looked at the data, made a scientific claim, but doesn't want to publish it, just wants to inform people anonymously.

Thats . not. how. science. works.

Log off the internet, go get a walk in and accept the fact that our democracy works and that your guy lost. Its over.

So now we’re questioning anonymous sources? When did we start doing that?

Funny how that works

I actually do agree with you about the need to engage with civility. I will say that it is very diffcult to do in reality. It is really frustrating to have a discussion with someone who feels that everyone and everything that is mainstream, or works for the government are either lying or complicit.

I have said for a while one of the worst things that will come out of the Trump years is the absolute destruction of trust in our media. The term "fake news" is really dangerous.

We need to understand that there is a very big difference between media personalities with options such as Hannity, Rachel Maddow, Van Jones, Tucker Carlson etc. These people aren't the "mainstream media". They absolutely slant their information to their audience.

The actual News reporting on Fox,CNN etc is pretty level and even, you just have to search for it. The absolute evisceration of Fox News for calling Arizona early by conservatives was interesting to watch. And it's interesting that Fox is not backing off that projection at all.

If you think we need to engage with civility, then maybe start doing it. Forgive me if I’m mixing you up with someone else, but I’m fairly certain you went on an angry diatribe about Christians a few days ago. Again, could be wrong, not combing thru your posts to find it. Either way, you haven’t been civil at all the past week.

I keep seeing this recurring theme from the left and never Trumpers that we all of a sudden need civility. Are you fvcking kidding me? After the past 4 years, NOW you want civility? Un****ingbelievable

We laugh in the face of 'anonymous data scientists' yes yes we do. Because no scientist EVER EVER would be anonymous with their data if they wanted to publish it and have it peer reviewed, which last time I checked; is the scientific method.

You cannot equate this absolute hog wash with sources revealing intel to our journalists. Deep throat wasn't a lie and credible journalists have to keep their sources hidden in order to maintain a check on our government. Tyler Durden here, the fictional non journalist political hack commentator has no proof of any wrong doing and now the narrative they want to spin is just laughable.

Four Seasons Landscaping laughable.

Also, aren't all the Trumpians on here against anonymous whistle blowers. Haven't they been getting their panties in a bunch for years over this and how if you are going to complain, you aren't credible unless you step forward? Asking for a friend.

I've said repeatedly that I'm not a Trumpian. I would have voted for Bloomberg or any other candidate that hasn't been taking my tax dollars across a 47 year period and not showing me any ROI.

That said, I did however side with Trump for this specific election and that's the fault of the left. The best you could produce after 4 years of having the shock of your lives when Trump beat HC was Joe Biden.....a decaying 77 year old with a corrupt son and 47 years of no track record. The second best option was Bernie Sanders (everything is free Bernie), so in reality you left me very little choice.

One thing I will say without a shred of doubt is this country is absolutely divided, maybe more than it ever has been and Joe Biden isn't going to fix that.

The key for all of us is to want Joe Biden to fix the division. The difference with Donald Trump is that he had no interest in closing the rift, only enlarging it. Can you think of a state he visited for a rally that did not support his election in 2016? He spoke only to his tribe. I can assure you that Joe Biden won't do that. He may not be able to heal the wounds, but he sure will try.

And he won't call the media the enemy of the people.
He won't call dead soldiers losers.
He won't belittle disabled people.
He won't throw paper towels at hurricane victims.
He won't call foreign lands ^&$%-hole nations.
He won't kiss up to Putin.
He won't be romanced by the head of state of North Korea.
And he won't tweet 10x a day.
His cabinet will look more like America and less like a Trump Country Club (one black person in 4 years????)
He won't fire Defense Secretaries like they were office receptionists.

The difference in dignity, alone, will be night and day.

Maybe you have me mixed up. I am glad Trump lost. I have hoped for 4 years that he would act a little Presidential, that maybe he would grow into the office, but that sadly never happened. His lack of empathy and ability to show any self control cost him badly.

For the record, I am a Christian, I am the son of a minister, I attended and graduated from a Christian University, and I hold a staff position in a church in the upstate. I also, feel that evangelicals have been snowed by this man and it's embarrassing. He was not pro-life until he decided to run for office and realized that the Conservative Christoan voter are one topic voters. If you don't believe me, ask them. If you say that you voted Biden the response is ,"So you support killing babies?". That has been said multiple times on this board in the last few months. I think that's sad. I would hope that we could be a little more nuanced.

I am passionate about my beliefs, but I do not put down people who feel differently. I do wish we would understand that there is still far more we have in common than those things which seperate us. Just because we voted for different thing doesn't mean I hate you are think you are a bad person.

My apologies if I got you confused with someone else, I half ass pay attention to this forum because it’s nothing but hyperbole and fake media regurgitation

I’m not going to get into specifics, but we’re just going to have to agree to disagree on Trump. He’s not my cup of tea(like most people), but I don’t buy the vast majority of the garbage that’s put out to slander him. Just see the post above from Kgwillison. It’s mostly bullshít.

If you want civility, and I mean actually want civility, don’t look at Trump supporters and place blame. The left has been the most insane, vitriolic group of people in this country for decades. People who support Trump are just fed up with constantly being put on the defensive.

Everyone in this forum who is blaming Trump for the division in the country is being dishonest. It didn’t start with him. The hatred for the media didn’t start with him. I’m 33 and the media has been out of control since I was a child. Start with them. They created this mess

Dude......the left ran an entire smear campaign on anonymous sources.....haha.

Surely you can see the difference:
-Media outlet determines that an anonymous source has enough credibility that publishing their claims won't damage their reputation. Keep in mind that the sources aren't typically anonymous to the media; it's not like they're getting text messages from blocked numbers and just run with it.
-A guy with a blog who won't say who he is or what data he's using?

Almost all of that entire post is complete nonsense. This is where we get into the fake news argument. CNN or MSNBC can claim Trump is sleeping with KJU and if they repeat it enough, the narrative is set and everyone takes it as gospel

See this forum for evidence

I’ll give you the handicapped reporter. That was maddening... The rest is garbage

Are you saying he did not call the media the "Enemy of the People"?
Are you saying he didn't toss paper towels when he went to Puerto Rico?
Are you saying he did not call African countries "^&%$-hold nations"?
Are you saying he didn't say he got "love letters" from North Korea?
Are you saying Ben Carson is not the only black cabinet member? (Who are the others?)
And you did see he fired another Defense Sec today, right? Have you ever seen a worse judge of personnel?

I would argue a couple points.

1. The media didn't start thisz we did by not demanding more and by flocking to personalities who told us exactly what we wanted to hear. We paid for this current media state.
2. I absolutely blame Donald Trump for furthering the vitriol in this country. Have you ever, even one time, seen Trump admit fault.or.say he was sorry? He always attacks and blames others.
3. Those clips may be out of context, but they were absolutely his words. This is the same man who said ," just grab them by the pu**y". He has said some pretty terrible things. The media doesn't have to work very hard to make him look bad. He does it to himself.

1. Fine. I’ll buy that. Maybe our demand has caused the media to shift its priorities and push nonsense. I won’t disagree with that. But why focus your anger on Trump and not place any blame on the media? That doesn’t add up

2. No, I have not. What about the media? Have they? They get it wrong constantly. Yes I realize they submit retractions, but when it’s 2 weeks after the initial fvck up, and you have to search to find it, does it count? NO

3. Not gonna argue he’s made stupid or reprehensible remarks. He’s not perfect. But at the end of the day, I’m not voting for a president who makes every correct diplomatic move, I’m voting for a president who gets things done. Trump has done more in 4 years than any other career politician in DC. He’s not a Sunday school teacher.

Yes or No: You honestly believe that there is widespread cheating/fraud that is affecting the outcome of this election?

I don't need details...just a simple yes or no please. And remember that lying is a sin.
Yes.

A friend of mine couldn't understand it. He told me his parents had voted Republican all their life............until they died.

Serious question. Why do we continue to use the behavior of the media to excuse his behavior? You admit he has never admitted mistakes or any fault, and then immediately compared him to the media. We have never had a president who was as dishonest as Donald Trump. That's been very well documented. He loves to point at the media, but they use his own words. He's a total clown and you guys are going to look back later and realize what a clown he really is.

Orrrrr this is a stupid joke taking the place of any actual evidence?

Take it easy, pal.

Yes.

Balance a joke. I guess.........
Could use a little more levity in these matters.

If the Democrats cheated, I want to know where my Democratic-majority Senate is? And who is responsible for 5 more GOP House members? No competent vote stealers would win one election and lose two.

I want my money back. I gave to the "We Will Steal This Election from the GOP PAC" and I didn't get my money's worth! I'm telling ya, I want a full-scale investigation into this. I am calling for a news conference at the Four Seasons Total Landscaping Co. tomorrow at noon to get to the bottom of this. Failing getting answers, we will adjourn to the neighboring porn shop where the Republicans are sure to be found still hanging around after their own news conference.

A little levity 😂

I almost always give your posts the proper consideration on points but you can't argue for the first if you're going to pooh on the second. They are quite literally the same exact scenario.

First, I'm not suggesting the the blog should be given any credibility at all nor the publisher but if you're a senior and respected data scientist in a fortune 500 company, then you have the same issues with basically being publicly stoned by the left/media and likely damaging your career as any other "source".

Much like your boy Tapper is suggesting very openly and publicly, along with members of the democratic party......literally, sitting public officials maintaining a list of targets to ruin. That simply does not look like the start of a country coming together, it reads as conservatives better run and hide for the next 4 years.

They are not quite literally the same. The first one at least has someone attaching their name to something. You can be mad at a specific journalist and organization. Your dude has zero accountability. And that's ignoring the difference in there being a multi tiered vetting process and the different subject matter for reporting.

If that guy is really a respected data scientist in a fortune 500 company and his story has merit, any of the major outlets would be thrilled to vet and publish his claims. That would generate hella clicks, which is allegedly the only thing the MSM cares about anymore.

I am just not ready to operate in an environment where everyone's word carries equal weight on everything, which is essentially what you're proposing. Right or wrong, I'm going to consider the reporting of a proven organization (in this case, that would even include Fox News (news, not opinion) over something like RT, which is quite literally Russian state media.

This, to me, is the scariest thing about our current reality. People are legitimately operating off different sets of facts and tend to discredit the sources of the other sides facts. I freely admit to doing the same thing; I think a lot of the links provided by people who lean the same direction you do are complete bull. I don't know a path forward when we can't agree on where we are. Note: that's not all targeted directly at you. I'm just genuinely concerned.

Again, I'll say this one more time.......I am making no claim to the accuracy or relevancy of the charts/data/publisher. I just said it was interesting, which data is always interesting if shown in the appropriate formats.

But......

So a highly paid data scientist that doesn't want to risk losing his job should just go public because it will help get media clicks? Maybe he has concerns about his family being attacked, or his kids being shunned at school or his employer finding a reason to fire him. Just because a media outlet would love to publish it doesn't mean he wants to be plastered all over media.

Let's not kid ourselves that media has accountability:

-Russian collusion
-Hunter Biden laptop (throwing that in there to appease anyone not opined to my views)
-Trump calling the military losers (not proven but yet ran on every news outlet)

No one is accountable for anything these days, minus the dude that boxed his clown on a zoom call.

The same article regarding Jake Tapper is published on Fox.....the same comments are easily found on twitter (the one the left ensures is censored btw), Tapper and others included, posted their thoughts/intentions/threats on twitter.

The scariest thing about this country for me is that you can no longer openly talk about your views on anything America without the constant threat of negative action, being labeled a racist, accused of pushing divide, etc etc etc. The middle is shrinking at every election.

As a consumer of news, data, information, public opinion......you have no choice to but to scour sources and try to form your own opinions. In all honesty, we used to run CNN and Fox in the office but both have lost their way. CNN won't put their chosen ones on the spot and Fox just counters anything CNN covers on the opposite side of the view/opinion. We now watch Bloomberg TV just for financial news.

Personally, I think you have to scour all sources of news/data. That might be engrained in me from stock picking but you might find yourself surprised that there are good journalists that aren't mainstream.

-Trump calling the military losers (not proven but yet ran on every news outlet)

For the record, while this was credited to anonymous sources, it was independently confirmed by The Atlantic, The AP, The Washington Post, and Fox News. That's just called journalism. You have to honor anonymous sources if you want to keep them as sources.

Just ask Cris, Paul, or Larry.

It is really important to recognize that just because they don't print the name of the anonymous source, doesn't mean that it is some random person texting secretly. The writer and many times the editors know who the source is. The vet the information and release if they feel good about it.

And quite honestly, with things Trump has said about John Mccain, what about the "loser" comment seems out of place or out of character?
