Trump supporters attacking the police in DC

So what’s the end game here? How do we fix it? I am sick of the back n forth, tit for tat, I’m smarter then you! All this arguing and name calling just drives us apart further and further. “A house decided can not stand”!

We need mainstream republicans to denounce QAnon, try.pism, conspiracy theories, election fraud. They need to say that "enough is enough"

Pretty much this. Stop entertaining ****ing fantasy bs. Stop accusing those that disagree with you of being socialist marxist child sex traffickers. Stop insisting that none of your own parties/medias actions are your own responsibility and clean up your damn room. Actually start acting like adults, and stop freaking out because someone told you a rumor on social media.

Come to terms that Trump lost what our intelligence agencies have deemed the safest, securest election in our history. Stop scaring the little kids with talk of civil war and learn to accept defeat.

All good ideas. But I couldn’t help notice y’all pointed out what the Republicans need to do. What do the Democrats need to do?

Easy. Reach across the aisle to pass level-headed bipartisan legislation for the betterment of this country in the coming months. That, and actually let worthwhile potential laws come to a vote in the Senate. I’m sick of our legislative processes being clogged up the obstruction and posturing of individuals who want nothing more than to cling to their fiefdom of power.

Additionally, get back to letting the civil servants across the federal agencies do their dang jobs without unnecessary interference from hackjob political appointees. As an IT contractor, I’ve seen firsthand the massive amount of damage that this interference has inflicted on both the VA and especially the CDC in recent years. I’ve heard from my brother about the damage done to DOE, and I’ve heard from friends about the damage done to the State Dept. I highly doubt that those have been the only agencies crippled by unnecessary political interference. It’s up to the Biden Admin to pull the politics back out of the day-to-day operations of those agencies so that they can get back to serving their actual purpose to the best of their abilities.

Again, I doubt there are many folks in here that support that behavior at all. I doubt there are many that don’t believe those people shouldn’t be prosecuted to full extent of the law. Laying that at the feet of all conservatives (not necessarily saying that’s what you’re doing) probably isn’t the best way for us to move forward as a country.

Both sides need to tone down the rhetoric. There is this underlying belief by those on the right that Dems are un-american, or they hate America and are trying to destroy it. On the left, many are quick to label trump voters as nazis, or racists. Politicians fuel this so they can be reelected. We all love America, we just have different ideas about what it needs to be better.

Brings me to a belief I have had for a long time - I get angry when people de facto refer to someone with conservative beliefs as a "patriot" - as if all patriots are conservative and all conservatives are patriots.

You can love and support a country, and still believe things need changing.
