Tucker Carlson, who would later portray the Jan 6th insurrection as a peaceful proteest, wrote this text on Jan 6th.

"Jumping a guy like that is dishonorable obviously. It's not how white men fight. Yet suddenly I found myself rooting for the mob against the man, hoping they'd hit him harder, kill him. I really wanted them to hurt the kid. I could taste it," the text said, according to the Times.

When is the racism towards white men going to end? As a black lesbian even I can see the racism of white men. I would demand reparations if I were a poor downtrodden white man.

Whats the problem? You stopped the article right at the point where he said he goes on to say that he supports none of that. Nice selective editing. You sir, are #FAKENEWS

The next paragraph for those that care about the truth and not fake news

Tucker:
"Then somewhere deep in my brain, an alarm went off: this isn't good for me. I'm becoming something I don't want to be. The Antifa creep is a human being. Much as I despise what he says and does, much as I'm sure I'd hate him personally if I knew him, I shouldn't gloat over his suffering. I should be bothered by it. I should remember that somewhere somebody probably loves this kid, and would be crushed if he was killed," Carlson continued, according to the Times. "If I don't care about those things, if I reduce people to their politics, how am I better than he is?"

Your point is well taken and the quote from OP is unfair, BUT your response is not quite right either. The first part of the paragraph describes how he REALLY feels... wanting the guy dead. Your quote shows that he has the self awareness to realize that what he is feeling is not right... he is becoming something he didn't want to be. That doesn't change the fact that he DID like what he saw... just that he realizes that what he was feeling is wrong.

So to one extent, this shows that he is who his critics thought he was... a racist who enjoyed watching 3 white guys beat the crap out of a black guy. BUT it also shows that he doesn't like who he is and is becoming.

"I shouldn't gloat over his suffering. I should be bothered by it. I should remember that somewhere somebody probably loves this kid, and would be crushed if he was killed."

And he right... , but the fact remains that he DID. He did gloat over the kid's suffering. I suppose it's good that he actually IS bothered by that gloating.

You've got a real career in the media. You could put up the entire message and the bad points would still be bad. But instead you cut it off to try to make it somehow worse which is saying more about you than it is about Tucker. Just put the full message up and let people decide for themselves on the full basis. Trust me, it's a horrendous message no matter what but a lot of us go through those machinations and there is important context here.

As though many of the people here are any better. There are a lot of people, including you, who literally hate people they have never met and don't know simply because of their political views. Perhaps you should look in the mirror as should a lot of us who post here instead of casting judgment on someone else we don't know and will likely never meet? It's all a microcosm of the hostility that we are fostering toward one another in our society.

a racist! There you go. Didn't take long.

Racism is no longer the card you all think it is. We know when y'all bring the race card up you are full of Schiff. Racism is the little boy that cried wolf.

Do you ever have any thoughts that go through your head that you don't like? Maybe you have one of those puritan brains that has only pure thoughts.

When the low iq crowd lacks the ability to use reason and logic they play the race card. We all laugh at you now.

What part of the message was horrendous?

What part of the message was horrendous?

Well let's see:

That he, even for a moment, indulged a desire to see someone beaten to death? His comment about how white men fight? That's so awkward. What does it matter if someone is white or not? How does that impact how they are supposed to fight? What's the point of hating someone because you don't like their politics? Hating someone closes a door and the best way for our society to recover is to convince people as to what is right rather than un-personing them because they have loathsome views. I'm always for winning the argument if at all possible and not giving into disdain. Just a bad look.

He literally attached the article so you could read the rest of it for yourself, but he was highlighting the most repugnant part, that knowing the remainder of his quote doesn't change.

As for your second paragraph, the rest of us don't have a bullhorn to broadcast to the rest of the world our darkest, hate-filled thoughts like Tucker has done for years(yes I know this was a private text). What he says matters since millions of people accept his propaganda as truth without a second thought. Sure everyone has inappropriate thoughts about people we haven't met, but "most" of us don't air them here.

Tucker provides thoughts on things. Nothing he does deals with the actual news. One of the massive issues folks like you have adopted is anything that doesn't agree with your take on the world is "hate." That word gets tossed around like candy these days. It's such a dangerous way to view things. Because I disagree with almost everything you say doesn't make me hateful. We just see the world differently. Also, there's lots of propaganda you and others have posted here that you take as truth without a second thought but it doesn't make it any more true. We are all susceptible to confirmation bias. It's ripping apart the fabric of our society in so many ways.

Dude.. you have lost your mind if you think racism isn't a real thing. Tucker just texted that he was rooting for 3 white dudes beating up a black dude... HE brings skin color into it. It doesn't get any more obvious than that unless he actually came out and used the N word.

All of you….. are part of the problem. And for some of you, might not be your fault.

Anyone who has the responsibility to LEAD and quite frankly everyone admitting your actions are no longer your own but succumbing to ideology. Making decisions and making choices that no longer are your own but by the power of 3rd parties.

All of us should be bound to preserve protect and defend the Constitution of the US. But all I see are Libs and Pubs cherry-picking what they like and don’t like and supporting the frauds and ideologies that go against it. W. T. F. is wrong with people.

  • Leo F. Drummond : I may not be 100 percent today, but I'm here in spirit
    [All laugh but Rudy]
    Rudy Baylor : I'm curious.
Leo F. Drummond : About what?
Rudy Baylor : I'm just wonderin'... do you even remember when you first sold out?
Leo F. Drummond : [the room goes silent] Now you're an arrogant little piss-ant, aren't you? I advise you to mind your manners. You're in the big world now.
Rudy Baylor : Mind my manners? I come up here from Memphis, to depose four people... two of them are not here. And you tell me to mind MY manners?

  • Most people today want to act like Leo Drummond to “get theirs”. Go fvck yourself. That’s how you destroy a country. Have/Get some principles. For those that claim to be Christian, attempt to honor the 10 Commandments you violate daily.

It's not my job to read the article for you, champ.

The real point of this, like I said and you selectively ignored, is this: Tucker, on January 6th, discussed watching and enjoying some "trump guys" almost beat someone to death. The later, he ran an entire episode claiming there was no violence and it was all peaceful protest.

He is a lot like you. You were likely appalled by what you saw on Jan 6th. But since then you have let your confirmation bias take over. Now you claim it is no big deal.

Tucker was on TV every night, spewing hate. When you do that, you are open to being judged by me.

It amazes me whenever you speak that you show your true hypocrisy.

100%. And so does whatever shit MSNBC is shoveling today.

Everyone…. Do yourself and our country a favor. Quit paying these false idols their wages. They are glorified carnival barkers shilling pillows, Rx drugs and reverse mortgages.

They all want you to get comfortable, stay medicated and suck the equity out of your home. Turn these shitheads off.

So he had some bad thoughts? You have never thought about beating someone to death, shooting someone, etc? They are just thoughts, and they cross my mind everyday. Thoughts are not actions, they are just thoughts. You people want to punish thoughts now, limiting speech is not enough? Might as well be a full blown Nazi.

How white men fight? Do tell how that is racist? Again, the word racism is thrown out there to scare people when there is absolutely nothing racist about noting how white people fight. Another case of the boy crying wolf and faux outrage.

"White people dont fight like that" Is not a racist statement. Yes there is racism in this world, that ain't it.

It can't be racist unless he's wearing a KKK hood and screaming the n word. And even then... very fine people on both sides.

Tucker and Fox News are white supremacist.

You conflate hate with opinions.

Tucker spewed opinions, some of which you probably strongly disagreed with, on late night TV. He didn't spew hate.

You can disagree with gender ideology and not hate. You can disagree with abortion and not hate. You can believe that we need to have a border with Mexico and not hate Mexicans. On and on.

Still waiting for the resident lefties to explain how "White people don't fight like that" is a racist statement.
This, folks, is a prime of example of being disingenuous. It's not surprising you can't see the implicit racism in Tucker's comments considering you have Jello for brains.

**** man. You are just not smart.

And, what I mean by that is that it's obvious you have no self awareness and are entirely incapable of critical thought.

The obvious implication here is that only white people fight honorably. That's explicitly racist. The fact that you can't see that should be quite embarrassing.
That is 100% the implication.

What I think Murdoch was really scared of, was associations with known white supremacists coming to light in Tucker's texts. Ain't no way it was because he said a mean word about an executive.
