Tuesday Insider Notes
By: Paul Strelow

As you saw yesterday, we put in a TigerIllustrated.com projection for Highland Springs (Va.) four-star defensive back Malcolm Greene, an LSU commitment.

This came after Greene (5-10, 180), ranked No. 214 nationally by Rivals.com, spoke with Dabo Swinney on Monday afternoon.

We can tell you that at this time, Greene does not intend to discuss or update his recruitment publicly until the early signing period (Dec. 18).

At one point in the recruiting process, LSU 4-star commit Malcolm Greene claimed nearly 30 scholarship offers.

Greene is a summer enrollee. He took an official visit to LSU in October, and committed two weeks later.

We anticipate him taking a Clemson official visit in January.

This situation has moved quickly. Per our sources, Swinney is now expected to conduct an in-home visit with Greene on Wednesday.

**** Columbia (S.C.) Hammond School five-star defensive lineman Jordan Burch is currently entertaining guests for the final time this week.

Burch (6-5, 265), ranked No. 8 overall, gave an in-home visit Monday night to Alabama coach Nick Saban, per BamaInsider.com.

We brought to light that Clemson had at least one assistant go for an in-home last Friday. We have reason to suggest Swinney will get his shot this week as well, as the Tigers feel they are still in contention.

LSU coach Ed Orgeron is expected in later this week.

As of today, our belief remains that the most evidence stacks up in South Carolina’s corner.

**** Beyond the uncommitted targets, the staff’s travel this week primarily revolves around in-home visits to its commitments.

Out of the gate this week, quarterbacks coach Brandon Streeter flew out to check in with Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco five-star quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei. Offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell stopped by this morning to see Lexington (Ky.) Frederick Douglass four-star offensive tackle Walker Parks.

The California swing continues today, as we've reported defensive coordinator Brent Venables conducts his in-home with Upland (Calif.) five-star linebacker Justin Flowe.

Meanwhile Swinney will remain off campus for much of the week until bowl practices begin on Friday. We are told Swinney will be in New York today for the annual National Football Foundation awards dinner.
