U.S. troops killed in Jordan

A few airstrikes didn't change anything? Shocker.

The Iran problem doesn't go away unless you're willing to commit to another several year long, several trillion dollar war in the Middle East with a low chance of lasting success. I'm uninterested.

Joe Biden this is on you and your cronies.

More Americans have died from the actions of illegal immigrants so when do we unleash the Shock and Awe on the Southern and also on the much less abused but still abused Northern Borders

I say drop the brush cutter bombs that make a LZ from the immense blast

Build the 30 foot wall and mine the areas with non-lethal bouncing betties with dye that can be tracked along with using IR to hunt the lawless people

Reelect Trump for the solution

Biden has marshmallows for balls

Of course if Biden didn’t insult the Saudi family they would support and help us kill off all the radical Moslems including Houthis and Iran mullahs

Biden's appeasement policy does not work with Iran and their proxies. These people only understand one thing.
A blind man could see this coming especially after over 100 attacks. It was just a matter of time before one got through.

At this point we only have two choices 1 ) pull all military out of the Middle East. 2) bomb the hell out of them and put enough sanctions on them to the point they are starving.

I was the lone surgeon stationed at this military base 4 years ago. We were woefully unprepared for anything like this. We sounded every alarm we could to alert the leadership but I’m sure nothing has changed since then. My colleague who was there with me, and hasn’t been there for 4 years, was getting called today asking if we needed more blood products. An utter sh*t show.

The fact is, our military is lucky that more situations like this don’t occur more often. My heart goes out to the people involved and hopefully this is the wake up call the leadership needs to get us out of those hellholes where we cannot win.

Maybe this whole thing is the result of us be 100% pro Israel. And it's perceived that we always have been.

Amen we need a massive economic response as to sanctions and follow with Shock and Awe bombing if Iran fails to get the message

The problem is Iran.. maybe we have too many politicians on the take to attack the problem. Show me a rich politician and I will show you a crook. From Truman and Reagan

We cut off the head of the snake in Afghanistan when we invaded. How’d that work out for us long term? What did we achieve? Absolutely nothing
We tried to establish a democracy in a country that had never had one with people that didn’t want one.

We should’ve pulled out of Afghanistan after we got Bin Laden. The Mission was accomplished then.

Bombing isn’t going to do shit. Collective punishment of civilians is a war crime.

Get out of the region

And when Iran gets a nuke there will be a lot more civilians killed either there or here . We know what there end game plans are get rid of Israel and the U.S.

That's because we allow politicians to fight wars from Washington, DC. They get our people killed.

I couldn’t disagree more.

They’ll get one regardless of what we do short of us spending several years and several trillion dollars fighting a land war over there.

They aren’t stupid or irrational. They want a nuke because it would allow them to apply pressure in the region and maintain deterrence against Israel. Both perfectly rational aims if you’re in their shoes.

I’d argue there was zero reason to have a ground war there to begin with.

Bin Laden got exactly what he wanted.

So your saying we should not respond to the killing of our military due to the fact when it starts there's no doubt civilians will be kill .
bombing them or not isn’t going to change the dynamic. I don’t have strong feelings either way.

The juice is not worth the squeeze as far as it concerns our presence there

Get revenge for the deaths of our soldiers and then gtfo of there.

Stop being the world’s police. Let’s take care of our own problems, of which we have many.

No, it’s because we go into these Middle Eastern adventures with a vague sense of long term strategy against people who are far more willing to accept death and suffering than we are
And that is exactly the same view of the Russian Army, they do not care how many will die but they will not give up certain parts of Ukraine.

A ground war with Iran would first involve another venture into southern Iraq in and around Shi'a Islam's holy sites, i.e. IEDs and suicide bombers galore, before reaching Iran proper. Once in Iran, we'd have to deal with the Zagros mountain range and venture hundreds of miles into the center of the country to reach Tehran. The whole experience would be a combination of the worst parts of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Mind you, NK could also take the chance to start a war with SK, and the Gulf States will have their oil facilities hit. Boy wouldn't that be fun. Gas prices through the roof, tens of thousands of US soldiers dead, and several trillion more to the national debt.

That's what you're asking for if you're serious about getting rid of the Ayatollah.

We want no part of a ground war in Iran. It would lose a lot of American lives undoubtedly.

Pressure them economically as hard as possible and defend our homeland.

I think this is largely all that we can do.

Exactly. After about 2003 we pretty much had killed off all the brave and the stupid jihadis. Should have put some warlords like Dostum on the payroll with the message that we'd be back to kill some more and change the leadership team if we needed to. Could have done that 4 times over more cheaply and at less cost to us killed and wounded than what happened Edit: typos

Holy shit man, I cannot imagine the physical and mental toll this would take. Thank you.

Took my family into DC for the weekend for my son’s 11th bday. He had been wanting to go to the Smithsonian for a LONG time soooooooooo figured it would be a good surprise.

Stayed one night in Foggy Bottom right near GW University and we had dinner Saturday night at Old Ebbitts Grill.

…. This is relevant because …. HOLY SHIT!!!! The amount of homeless in DC is awful! The National Park Service has managed to keep the homeless off the Mall, but all the small “parks” around????? They are now homeless encampments .,.,,,,, or should we say Bidenville’s, and this isn’t like on the outskirts of town ….. this is a block or less from the White House or Capitol building.

Walking around the city this weekend was so sad ….. the last time I had spent the weekend in DC was on 2018 and …. It is so different and terrible now .

What has changed ????

Every “war” we’ve fought since WW2 politicians have gotten involved and F’d things up. If not for politicians, Korea would be unified and governed from Seoul, Vietnam would’ve been a walk in the park, and there wouldve been no second Iraq war.

Let our military do what it’s good at. Kill shit …

You kill 3 of ours? We will kill 3000 of yours …. That’s the proper exchange rate for dealing with these people.
