Caveat: I often felt like Tony Elliot was fairly boring as a play caller, and didn't utilize our QB's or talent at the skill position as much as he should. I often thought his Engineer brain which was systematic led to quite boring and uninventive offensive play, though produced results.
However, since he's left one of the biggest underrated issues that we have all noticed is the general sloppiness of our Offensive units. From the Fumbles, Interceptions, dropped passes, missed assignments, and constant drive killing penalties, its clear that his emphasis on fundamentals and doing the little things right is vastly missing.
I feel like we never had procedural penalties, and way less fumbles and missed assignments when he was at the helm.
This changed with Streeter, and Riley certainly hasn't cleaned it up at all, as we saw last week.
Is there a fix for this?
