I am assuming we will keep more “walk ons” on our roster than most. It’s my understanding that not everyone has to be on scholarship with the new 105 roster limit, but they can be. If we decide to maintain walk on status, does that in any way benefit us, outside of not having to match the scholarship number for Title IX purposes? Could saving scholarship money in any way be allocated somewhere else? Can we put that money into facilities, other sports, etc and reallocate some of our other money that into NIL? I just get the feeling that I’m going to be upset by the number of former walk ons that we keep and trying to find a way to feel better about it.
Will there be any benefit to keeping walk ons?
