The macho macho of the Bush Cheney years squandered a trillion dollars and the loss of many servicemen and women for warmongering reasons. If the War Hawks had their way we would be bogged down in Libya, Syria, Iraq, Iran and the Ukraine. Yes it is sad what is happening in these countries but the we cannot afford to duke it out every time there is a civil war in the Middle East. It is laughable to hear the extreme right wax nostalgia over those Bush / Cheney years but there is a big reason why he Bush left the White House with a failed presidency. Clearly things are not going great in the world but it is very doubtful the US policing the world would change much except more debt and greater loss of American lives.
