Russia will have gained land they invaded. Ukraine gets no protections, and then Russia plans to invade again years later.
Then for Trump to be clearly on Russias side as well. It goes against decades of US Foreign Policy.

Stopping the war and any further US monetary involvement is winning.. Russia and Ukraine fighting over land is not a vital US national security interest. Trump is going to try and recoup some of the money given also. Trump and the US win when the war stops.

It’s not even a discussion if Russia believes the US would support Europe, as Ukraine has further proven that we would destroy them from a conventional military context. Obviously mutually assured destruction is a good of a deterrent as any, but if Russia believes we’d sit back then that’s the only way another invasion occurs and hundreds of thousands, if not millions, likely die.

I was upset when Russia invaded in 2014 and took over Crimea after it had been independent for 20+ years. The Ukrainian people ousting a leader that was sympathetic to Russian causes and replacing him with someone that was more West-leaning was their prerogative as an independent country. Russia invading and annexing Crimea because they were upset about that is not Ukraine's fault.

You never answered my question... When would you be concerned for our national security? When they are at our border? You don't think Russia taking over Europe impacts our security? Our economy would be threatened and that definitely is a national security issue.
