The Apollo 8 mission and its significance seems sometimes forgotten in its importance to the history of space travel — first humans to leave earth and orbit another celestial body, the moon. The astronauts on this mission delivered the above message to everyone on earth as they came upon the lunar sunrise. The date was 12/24/1968.
Powerful stuff, good reminder of how magnificent the universe is. I always like to share this time of year.
