On this one he is “technically” right…month over month number was 0 and he does specify for july. Im the last person to defend this idiot but the criticism on this one is off. At worst its cherrypicking - the number is typically quotes in yoy terms, but not wrong.
the real story though is this is a pyrrhic victory…what infl number really saying is the economy has been crushed by inflation and rate hikes and a steep recession is on the horizon.
Of course I do not think the govt even includes price of food in the inflation stats and there was a significant increase in July. We all know that China Joe and the lying libs are full of SH*t

He was quoting cpi which does include it, though i believe they have some autonomy over the basket measured but not entirely sure. If i remember right they use prices on something like 100k goods and sector them and then weight it. Core inflation is what economists prefer that excludes food and energy because theyre volatile. Also pretty significant part of most budgets but big E economists are mostly idiots for a reason. Anyways my point was only to say by month over month inflation growth was 0…because its technically right to say that didnt want to see anyone get put on a poster for calling it out. I hate being wrong haha, didnt want to see anyone fall into that trap. But him saying it that way is disingenuous…its still increasing at 8.5% year over year. And it slowing is just demand being crushed by sustained inflation and rising rates so its not exactly the w theyre selling it as. Thats the economy going toes up. So yea - while not singularly responsible for it - his admin is largest contributor for its climb and will be will be for its approaching decline.
