I think that's a stretch. Jon Stewart makes fun of both parties, and yes he leans a bit left, but he just comes across as much more credible and thoughtful. Stewart also isn't owned by any of the major news outlets unlike Carlson.

The only real quibble I have with your argument is that one openly states when asked that he isn't a journalist and one claims to be a real journalist. That is just packaging but it is important packaging.
