I had a very important meeting last night

I would Strongly Encourage everyone who is able to contribute to NIL Funding to do so. As I’ve mentioned before, we need all hands on deck. I Cannot Emphasize This Enough. If everyone would step up & give what you’re able to give, it would go a long way in fulfilling our NIL commitments & obligations.

I Can Assure You, The Funds

🎅🏻 The last time Clemson lost to The Citadel ...

was of course 1931, a 6-0 defeat to the Bulldogs, which occurred in Florence, S.C. at Memorial Stadium.

The Tigers were 1-6-2 that season, the first for head coach Jess Neely. The only win occurred versus N.C. State (6-0) in Charlotte (N.C.) at Central High School in front of 5,000 spectators. Clemson's worst loss that year was a 74-7 defeat to Alabama in Montgomery, Ala.

In 1931 ...

-- Herbert Hoover was president.
-- The Star-Spangled Banner was officially adopted as the national anthem.
-- Construction was completed on The Empire State Building.
-- Porsche was founded.
-- Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle were born.
-- The Coca-Cola Company began placing Santa Claus/Coke ads in magazines.
-- AllState went public (on the NYSE).
-- Babe Ruth became the first MLB player to reach 600 home runs.

Ukraine and the point of view that Russia aggression is ito protect against nato eastern expansion

Do you really believe nato is looking to invade Russia. If your next door neighbor is Russia with the actions it has taken would you not be concerned about sovereign border territories being seized with no restraint in bombing civilians in all locations with thermal weapons that emit an initial burst of material that then ignites a 2nd explosion creating a vacuum that sucks the guts out of everyone within a large range or the confines of a building? How can any pro life advocate not care about the atrocities by Russia with no concern for any civilian life?

In WW II Europe stayed in denial until Germany pushed things to the tipping point of no return. Why would Nato go down that road again?

Just curious to hear why anyone believes otherwise

Hard also to understand restricting use of US weapons across Russia border other than fear of opening door to Russia taking actions to further arm Cuba and any foothold in South America and other BRIC allies? Some reports that Russia is increasing nuclear delivery capability for N Korea in return for the troops and weapon supplies N Korea is providing Russia invading a sovereign European country?

Glad there are indications restrictions are finally being lifted. Seems like a window is open until Trump is sworn in just like Russian expanding push at high cost to establish favorable conditions for negotiations giving it all seized territory and have the Kurst region in Russia handed back

These are questions I keep pondering. Maybe many just don't care.

The US responsibility was largely set by Bretton Woods that established the US dollar as the reserve currency for global trade. This gave the US a huge economic advantage. Not sure whether in writing, but this also put an increased responsibility that is also in the the best interest of US which dwarfs other nations in Naval capability to protect the shipping lanes of earth which is predominantly covered by water.

After Nixon (was elected by the largest margin in history I believe) took away the last ties to gold and threw all doors open for money mischief by all foxes in the hen house. Add to that weaponizing the USD as leverage against any enemies or perceived foreign threat. Not criticizing the action, just how we got there.

Granted, many allies grew overly dependent on the US and let their defense contributions diminish and are now acting to correct this with the threats posed.

There are 2 sides to this coin and one seems to be overlooked or just taken as something we feel to simply be entitled to.

Cenk is coming around. Glad to see it:

When I became a Democrat, it was the more tolerant party. Republicans were run by religious nut jobs and corporate robots. Now, the Democrats are in a lot of ways the less tolerant party.

The least tolerant part is actually the establishment wing of the party that says anyone opposing their anointed leaders is committing heresy. If you try to give constructive criticism of the party to improve it, they drive you from the party while screaming, “He’s not a real Democrat!!”

They hate populists. They have become the corporate robots I couldn’t stand. They hate their base. They insult our intelligence by pretending that the donors are not in charge. They think we should be controlled and learn how to follow orders. And they have no idea how elitist they sound.

Predictably, their unironic reaction to this post will be, “Heretic!!”

Election Results: Can Trump maintain absolute majority, Reps one seat away from preserving House majority

Reps look to have 218 sewn up with AK district 1, but might also take AZ 6 by the skin of their teeth. CA 49 and a few others look promising as well.

EDIT: AK does ranked choice voting, so if the majority vote winner does not have an absolute majority, then it goes to the ranked-choice system where things can get weird.

Teams to pull for this weekend - Kinda of like watching fantasy football but for teams to lose

We need to root for these upsets this weekend. Any of these would greatly help Clemson move up with a chance to make the playoff.

These would all help our tiebreaker situation and WF would knock Miami completely out!!!
WF over Miami
Stanford over Cal
Pitt Over Louisville
VT over Duke
UVA over SMU

Other Teams to root for this Saturday
KY over TX
MN over Penn St.
AZ ST over BYU
KS over CO
Army over ND
WY over Boise ST.
OK over AL
Auburn over TX AM
FL over Ole Miss

**Not sure on IN or OHIO ST, but glad one of them will get a loss**

Depending on what happens this week will determine who to root for in the last week and the championship games.
Next weekend

OK ST over CO
Houston over BYU
CAL over SMU
OR ST over Boise ST
Cuse over Miami
Vandy over TN
MS ST over Ole Miss
GT over UGA
Auburn over AL
USC over ND
Purdue over IN
MD over Penn ST
MI over Ohio ST.

**Not sure on TX vs TX AM yet - but at least one of them will get another loss**

Overall, if we can see a decent amount of upsets these next two weeks, and Clemson manages to beat S. Carolina, we could make it into the playoffs. Going to be a very interesting next 2-3 weeks to see where we land. All we can do is do OUR part and hope for the best.

OT: Tedeschi Trucks Band

@Larry_Williams Soooo, I’m pretty certain I am now in agreement that TTB may be the best band in America currently speaking and maybe top 5 all time if not better than that. I hadn’t see them since 2018 at Skyla in Charlotte when Marcus King opened and Drive By Truckers in the middle that night. A driving rainstorm hit as soon as they played their first note and they were still on fire then with MK coming out to encore Whipping Post if I recall correctly. It was a great show and saw them at Thomas Wolfe in Asheville I think before that or it may have been after not sure at this point. But you said they were the best thing going as I think you were taking your kids to The Beacon to see them last year maybe ?

Well, I saw them at The Revelry in Charlotte Monday night in a private show for Charlotte Music Club which is a new deal that’s attracting heavy hitters for sure. I saw Greensky Bluegrass and Molly Tuttle opened for them last October for the inaugural show. Venue only holds 1000 people and some dude who’s hedge fund manager started this club. I also saw Goose two weeks ago November 4th then TTB Monday night. Goose had double the amount of people there roughly and they lit that place up for sure. Greensky was also super tight last year and love Molly Tuttle too.

But, even though they had skeleton crew with no horns and only Mike Matteson maybe one more backup singer , they came in there setting the place ablaze!

I echo your sentiments that are most definitely tighter than ever and that nonverbal connection between Susan/Derek has gotten even better.

I see them with my ex wife numerous times and their songs/lyrics all spoke to me big time before divorce. However in the current, they’re all perfect because a lot of them touch on what happened in the nasty , inhumane split between us.

They encored with “Guilded Splinters” in which I’ve seen Panic do many times over. Derek killing the slide with Matteson belting and Susan backing was just a magical ending to an amazing night of music. I really forgot how much I loved them and they sure put it down to remind me loudly as well as precise clearness. And this was after two nights at Ovens Auditorium last week then 2 tour closers at the Fabulous Fox in Atlanta as I’m sure you knew. So I was wondering how hard this bring it and they all but burnt the place down with a clean tightness like I haven’t heard in a while !

I love goose to the end and back but those dudes have really only been doing it hardcore since 2019 when Peach Festival show in Pennsylvania pretty much put them on the map.

So, I had to circle back to say I wholeheartedly agree with you even though I do think Panic was cooking it up too before Jimmy H was diagnosed. Susan’s voice has seemingly gotten even more powerful and Matteson crushed Guilded for sure. Derek was his typical boss self shredding it all night and I like the new dude on the keys. Hate that Kofi Burbridge is gone way too soon but I thought they sounded absolutely amazing. Super solid setlist and the people that were in the tiny joint were all feeling them for sure.

Just a wonderful night of music and Goose also melted it down in the same place. I would highly recommend checking out Charlotte Music Club’s website as it’s expensive but totally worth it. You buy in blindly but I already heard next years
4 shows are inked and said to be super solid once again. This year was Wilco, Nathaniel Ratliffe , Goose and TTB. So imagine next year will bring more hear and everything is included once you buy in. It’s like catching them at a bar or tiny venue when they first started as there were probably about 450 there maybe .
Now I’m back down the rabbit hole with them again as I’m able to handle and enjoy the lyrics again while the instruments have always been so tight. I would rank them near them near the top of all time bands and that was definitely a top 5 show ever for me. Panic 125 times , Goose 10, Billy Strings 10 and that was only my 4th TTB show while by far the best ! I simply cannot fathom how amazing they were at The Beacon! Had 3 of 5 nights with Panic lined up with my best friends since childhood but Covid cancelled it 2x and
The reschedule was
In July and I simply can’t go on runs in the summer due to managing a marina. But I’m gonna get there and the Capitol Theater sooner rather than later
As I’ve heard nothing but amazing things!

Clemson featured on Jomboy

I’m sure most of you are familiar with this youtube channel, he breaks down the end of the Pitt game. This was actually very useful for me as I missed the entire game and didn’t really know all the details other than something went down with the refs.

Him making fun of Narduzzi’s celebration had me rolling

Prayer Request

My wife has found out she has the gene for breast cancer. This gene has been determined as 91% chance she will get breast cancer.

She has elected to proceed with a double mastectomy with reconstructive surgery on December 17. I am 100% supporting this process.

This was a no-brainer.

Christmas will be spent shut in for us. Our decision being proactive just felt like the thing to do.

Hope everyone is having a great week.
