Clemson wins, Scar lost, Alabama lost and now Tenn lost.

Good day of college football if you asked me.

Literally nothing out there on this kid after missing most of his Jr Year. Found these stats, not sure how accurate. Pretty concerning if true considering where he is playing his HS football. Perhaps @Paul Strelow can weigh in more here.

I mean, we all see the warts this team has but I feel like it's a work in progress. I don't mean to imply that I think this team is 2016 good, but consider:

We beat unranked Auburn by 6
We sweated out beating Troy by 6
Only beat GT by 19 in a game we dominated
Crazy lucky beating NCS by 7 in OT
Squeaked by Pitt 43-42

I consider the 2018 team the best ever, but there were games we didnt exactly close the deal on.

This era of free agency has radically altered college football. Who knows what's gonna happen? But I like what I'm seeing with progression from many of our young players. This was a solid win in a hostile environment against a team that always gives us their best shot and they have athletes. I'll take it.

Just got home from a damn good time with my friends who live in Wisconsin. Rare thanks to Delta getting me back to Fla. to prep for the storm. Good round of golf at Brown Deer on Friday. Tailgating is a great scene in Madison with lots of businesses staging tailgating tents in their parking lots. I made the rounds to my friends’ friends’ places. Perfect weather. Stadium is great but the crowd isn’t DV. Got back to Milwaukee to watch us beat the Noles. I highly recommend the trip if you ever have occasion to make it.

Day 6 no power. I'm in Powdersville/Easley (3 Bridges/Brushy Creek). Right side of the neighborhood has power, left side nothing.

This relates not only to Clemson but any game you watch.

Is it me or do refs never measure for a first down anymore? I can’t recall the last time I’ve seen the chains trotted onto the field over the last several years. It use to be a 2-3 time occurrence every game. Now we rarely see it.

Any idea as to why?

It’s early in his career and who knows what happens when more tape gets put on him (#MacJonesExperience and others) but man is he reminding me a lot of DW4 before our guy imploded on and off the field …

Good:

Hauser- kid just knocks em thru

Run D- just stuffed fsu run game

Screen game - WR continue to block well

Cade decision making- fsu put this game on his arm/head. Cade loses this game last year. Ball placement was excellent. Only bad decision ended up being a TD to 0. Double coverage by any team not named fsu will result in likely pick. (Has anyone ever seen a team so inept with the ball in the air? Both sides of the ball too)

Run game got going 2nd half- massive holes vs a very good front

Bad:

Tackling- we're just not very aggressive. We "catch" a lot of tackles. I'm starting to think this is the world we now live in due to the threat of targeting???

Special teams- the FG pro issues were obvious. I think we were very conservative with punt returns as well. Hidden yardage. We need to return more punts.

3rd down offense- we were in 3rd and medium/long all night. Fsu didn't blitz much but certainly brought more in these situations. That makes holding the ball for routes to develop impossible. Ball out quick. We deferred to slants most of the night in these situations which left us short of the sticks. More Screen game please vs pressure! TJ Moore looked great on the tunnel! *side note - did anyone else see his spider man celebration?*

Yes there are MANY things Clemson needs to fix and improve. Yes this team is far from being complete, but….

Finally we have a good team again! Finally there’s reason to get excited watching the Tigers! Finally I don’t have a whole bunch of anxiety and stress thinking about our situation! Finally our team has some respect again! And Finally things are looking up and encouraging instead of depressing! Let’s keep the right perspective. It’s true things are not were we want them, but at least we can BELIEVE it can get there! Finally!

I thought it was dumb but I understand why they didn’t play much during the Georgia game. I cannot understand why these two hardly touched the field in the second half last night. If someone can help me out that would be great.
If you had to choose receivers to feed to make sure they don’t transfer I promise it’s not Turner or Stellato…..
Cade regresses when he doesn’t have dudes getting open, they can’t get open if they are on the sidelines.
Also Tyler Brown could help but maybe he can’t play this year.

Lawson has really played well last couple of games and noticed with Lawson playing well at DE last night allowed Woods to rotate back and forth from DT to DE.

I get it though.

I think Brock Glenn actually got lucky a good bit and was close to several disaster type plays, but no doubt he added some sort of spark compared to the soul sucking aura associated with DJ.

They got doubled-up in yardage and still only scored 13 points. And Clemson went vanilla on both sides of the ball when they realized FSU had no chance of scoring in bunches once behind.

But the moral victory vibe is about as high as I've ever seen for a 1-5 team that is the biggest disappointment in all of college football.
