My idea is to take the refs off the field. Let them watch the games on a screen like the rest of us. I'd give them better camera views, but that would be a benefit to fans as well, so it's a win win.

The average fan can call the game better just watching on regular TV, most of the fouls are obvious.

Something has to be done about this. Sports have done a great job of integrating technology to help the athletes, but they haven't done a damn thing to help the refs. Oddly enough tennis takes the gold for that, the human element has been taken out of the game altogether at the highest level. So much better knowing the person who won actually won.

Dabo said he's banged up and he'll be "a little day to day, I'm sure."

And why we avoid the middle of the field.

I swear it seems like when we use it we move the ball but then we go away from it for halves it seems.

All those quick outs to the sideline do nothing.

On paper for the season, Clemson is the better football team. But (Captain Obvious comment) the last three games, the offense is underperforming by a significant margin. Over the same stretch, South Carolina's offense is modestly overperforming compared to the season. This has all the makings of a tight game decided by one possession. Go Tigers.

I see much Alexander and Booth in him. Possibly even more upside.

Per our resident football writer, the best 2 rb we'll face all year are a 1st year freshman (who was a 3 star recruit out of FL) and a transfer from Western Carolina. Talent is clearly out there and available, but we seem to have stacked a room full of players not worthy of playing. Mafah can be very productive but isn't dynamic and is clearly playing hurt. On the 2nd point, he's been a heat-seeking missile for the sidelines for at least the last month in order to avoid contact. On an aside rant, the 4th down quick pitch to him, to the short side of the field, with no blocking, against 3 defenders, may have been the worst conceived call of the year.

I digress. The state of the RB room is pitiful. After this year we're clearly hoping that a true freshman will come and take the reigns because we've shown no one else has it. I'm not sure why EZ hasn't been given any opportunity, but I'll assume it's some combination of only playing him 4 games and him not being ready to play. For as great a player as Spiller was for Clemson, I just haven't seen anything as a coach so for that makes me believe he's an asset on the staff. RB is rivaling DE for quality...and that's not a compliment.

Was it a penalty deserving play, yes. Do you throw the flag after a player gets hurt and you have 5 minutes to review the play because of an injury timeout? No! Flag should have been thrown immediately. Not because a stoppage of play. Just bad officiating.

Virginia needs to win out and Louisville needs to get beaten by PITT and Clemson is in, OR Miami loses one more game.

Or SMU loses their next 2 games which is also very possible.

I had this thought this morning getting ready for church. Curious what everyone else thinks:
If Miami loses and we are in the ACC title game, do you sit the starters for the Uof game, and start game planning for SMU?

The ultimate goal is the playoffs, right? I don’t think we get in the playoffs if we run the table and are Not in the ACC championship. Our only shot at the playoffs is if we beat SMU in the title game.

I hate uof as much as anyone, believe me. It’s hard to stomach any loss to them. But I see a lot of benefit in game planning for smu for two weeks, getting some starters healthy, and giving some major PT and development reps to Vizzina, Eziomume, etc…

Always glad to see the Tigers win and will pull for them til the day I die.

But IMO this is a really poorly coached football team and the overall trajectory of the program continues to point down. Do you disagree and why?

Against everyone not named Georgia, Josh Heupel's offense has averaged 40.2 points per game over his four seasons.

And 14.2 points per game against Georgia.

Not sure if it was covered in the officiating thread (didn’t see it if it was) but how can officials miss multiple obvious false start calls? Not talking about slight flinches but full fledged false starts. One of them was on the last play of the game when the left tackle moves a good half second before the snap. Glad they didn’t score there with that obvious missed call

Let’s be honest, he ain’t got the jimmys and joes we have enjoyed in the past. A part of what we are witnessing is our recruiting catching up with us. I agree that he was unqualified for the job and we should have went with someone more proven. Those two questionable hires that year by Dabo for offensive and defensive coordinators has turned out to be disastrous and really set the program back.

I don’t question or disagree with Dabos philosophy regarding NIL and transfer portal but what I do disagree with is that he can have that stance and continue to command $11 million a year that simply not possible.

I really hate what has become of college football, it is to the point where last nights lost didn’t even really bother me. Looking down the road it looks like a real possibility this are going to get worse not better.
