OT: Does anyone have an inside connection to D1 soccer?

Curious if anyone has an inside connection to a D1 school soccer program. I am trying to learn the recruiting landscape for soccer, and will welcome any input. Well aware of the stats, players from Europe, transfers, etc. I am getting emails from “agents” and some coaches. My boy is only in 10th grade. Excellent student. Trying to just figure out where he may fit, if at all. Any input or tips is sincerely appreciated. I know there are a lot of good people on this board so thought it is worth a shot. Thanks in advance!

I keep seeing people talking about we need to play big boy transfer portal and I’ve seen the articles that says Clemson doesn’t have that much money. So serious questions are you all in?

Blake Herbert and stopping the bleeding

There are many on here who talk about events like today’s with a, “when is Dabo going to wake up?” Or, “what do we do to stop the bleeding?”

You are the same people who also pledge to never support NIL. I don’t like the system anymore than you all do, but for posters to have any reaction other than, “how do I donate to our NIL Collectove?” … it just blows my mind.

Gamecock DE Kennard....

Very possibly can break Clowneys sack record...and I hate it. This guy was sitting there for our taking in the portal and is just a terror for the shamecocks. Yet Dabo says most can't play for us. He's right now better than everyone except Pwoo.
And I'm not sure they can keep the other DE freshman...but he's a stud. Just a rocket off the edge.
We have to shore that position up.

**** Klubnik Named ACC Quarterback of the Week

Release from Clemson:

Klubnik Named ACC Quarterback of the Week

CLEMSON, S.C. — The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik has been named ACC Quarterback of the Week for his performance in Clemson’s 49-14 win at Wake Forest on Saturday.

The honor is Klubnik’s second of the season and the second of his career, joining an ACC Co-Quarterback of the Week honor for his performance against Appalachian State in early September. Collectively, Clemson has now earned four ACC weekly honors this season, and the Tigers have now garnered a total of 582 ACC weekly awards since 1968.

On Saturday, Klubnik completed 31-of-41 passes for 309 yards with three touchdown passes and no interceptions. He also added seven rushing attempts for 30 yards. After punts on Clemson’s first two drives, Klubnik engineered seven touchdown drives on Clemson’s next nine possessions, one possession of which lasted only 30 seconds and was ended by the conclusion of the first half. His 31 completions in the game were a season high and represented his first 30-completion game since the 2023 Gator Bowl against Kentucky (30).

This season, Klubnik has accounted for 17 passing touchdowns and four rushing touchdowns, as he has already posted the 19th individual season in Clemson history in which a player has been responsible for 20 or more touchdowns. Klubnik (21) ranks fifth in the nation and third among power conferences in touchdown responsibility this year, and his 17-to-2 (8.5-to-1) touchdown-to-interception ratio also ranks fifth in the nation and third amid power conferences among passers with at least 100 attempts and at least five touchdown passes.

Kirby Smart didn't realize he shoved Mississippi State QB

Kirby Smart didn't realize he shoved Mississippi State QB

By: Mark Schlabach - ESPN.com

Georgia coach Kirby Smart reached out to Mississippi State coach Jeff Lebby and quarterback Michael Van Buren Jr. after he shoved Van Buren during the fourth quarter of Saturday's 41-31 victory at Sanford Stadium

In a news conference Monday, Smart said he didn't realize he had pushed Van Buren until watching film of the play after the game. Smart said he called Lebby on Saturday night and Van Buren the next day.

"I went back and watched it," Smart said. "I didn't even realize that I had run into him. Yesterday, I talked to Mike and told him that I had no intentions or ill will toward him at all."

Smart shoved Van Buren after the freshman was pushed out of bounds on Georgia's sideline by safety Dan Jackson at the end of a 6-yard run with 2:55 left in the game.

After the game, Smart said he was trying to get defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann's attention when Van Buren ran into his path.

Smart wasn't penalized by officials for making contact with Van Buren.

"If you've ever been on the sideline, it's pandemonium," Smart said Monday. "It's really pandemonium when you're trying to change personnel, and you've only got 3 to 4 seconds to do it. We were bad off, in a bad personnel grouping, and I was trying to get to Schumann to get that changed."

In his second college start, Van Buren completed 20 of 37 passes for 306 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.

"He was great," Smart said of their conversation. "He's a really good player. He's going to be a good player in this league, and he played better as the game went on against us."

Also on Monday, Smart announced that sophomore running back Branson Robinson would miss this week's game at No. 1 Texas after injuring his right knee against Mississippi State. Robinson, the No. 5 Bulldogs' third-leading rusher with 73 yards and three touchdowns, has a sprained MCL, according to Smart.

Smart didn't say how long Robinson will be sidelined.

The Bulldogs are already playing without Roderick Robinson, the team's top returning rusher, who hasn't yet played this season because of a toe injury.

Freshman Nate Frazier and former walk-on Cash Jones will probably see increased action behind starter Trevor Etienne.

WCCP- Flagship station for Clemson Football or nah???

Old man yelling at clouds here, but can someone explain how/why the Clemson flagship station doesn't talk about Clemson football on the Monday after a game? I normally sleep through Mickey's show but always check out the podcast to go back to listen to any talk about the team. Here's what today's show lists for segments...

Hour 1
Reaction Monday/Elite CFB Teams?

Hour 2
Arthrex Minute with Dr. Steve Martin/Kirby Smart & Composure

Hour 3
Week 8 Preview/ SEC! SEC! SEC!

So looking at that list, I'm guessing there might be some talk about Clemson football in the first one or two segments of Hour 1...maybe.

I am a big fan of Faxon and think he has a bright future, but I swear his show probably devoted no more than 5 minutes out of 3 hours to Clemson football. Sure, we had Delvin call up and ask about UAB which is thrilling for us all...but almost zero talk about Clemson.

As terrible as the Gamecocks are, if you turn on 107.5 during football season it is pretty much wall to wall Carolina football win or lose during the week, especially early in the week. They bring in Ryan Brewer for an hour or two and have former players/coaches on to discuss their games. I spent a couple months in Omaha for work a few years back, and every day during the football season was 90% Huskers with a little general CFB/NFL mixed in.

I just don't get it. We wait all year for this season and talk about Clemson football throughout the year, but our flagship station sucks and can't be bothered to cover games unless it's part of their totally useless pick 'em contest that nobody with a brain cares about at all.
