Defense is excellent when disciplined

I was discussing with a friend during the game that the defense is playing at an extremely high level when they do not shoot themselves in the foot. Decided to do some research and this is what I found in short. Since the Georgia game the defense is literally shutting down the opposition when they do not commit a penalty. There are a few scores that happen late once the game was decided but besides this teams just do not go down the field on us. I've been critical of Wes but we are playing at a high level and getting better.

Wake Forest two scoring drives
1. Pass interference
2. Pass interference
Besides these two drives the longest drive that Wake had was on the last possession of the game.

FSU two scoring drives
1. Roughing the passer
2. Touchdown with no penalty however FSU did have to convert a fourth down to keep the drive going.

Stanford two scoring drives
1. Personal foul facemask that puts the ball into plus territory
2. No penalties but again it was the last possession of the game

NC State 5 scoring drives
1. Personal foul facemask
2. 3 Defensive pass interference calls
3. No penalties (Clemson already has 59 at this time)
4. No penalties
5. No penalties

App State 3 scoring drives
1. Personal foul facemask
2. Two field goals
3. Pass interference on the defense

So in summary since the Georgia game Clemson has allowed 13 touchdowns and committed penalties on 8 of those drives. The only team that can stop Clemson is Clemson.

What an incredible weekend of college football!

When it comes to every other team, I love nail biting, overtime, fun games! When it comes to Clemson, I want 49-14. Mission accomplished

I could list all the great games starting with AZ St Utah, to the ton of amazing endings last night! I’m sitting here with a literal and figurative hangover from a crazy good weekend of college football!

I’ll save the NIL, portal and all that crap for the offseason. This weekend was amazing!

SMU 12-1, MIA 12-1, CU 11-1

Too hard to tell from the convoluted ACC tiebreak menu as opponent winning percentage will determine the top 2. But there is a legit scenario where SMU MIA and CU end 8-0 and Clemson is odd man out for CLT.

SMU ACC champions
Miami loses title game 12-1
Clemson 11-1

Miami and Clemson both in?

Gotta love the modern era where Clemson and Miami could have gone 12-0 this season and not make the ACC title game, 😂.

Why we need Gun Laws because of Dangerous Unsafe People Like Tim Walz

That man is dangerous with a gun and he does not know how to handle it.

I am training my 10-year-old granddaughter and 11-year-old grandson how to handle firearms.

They could teach Coach Tim Walz better than how he handles the firestick.

Talk about fake and misinformation. That man needs to stick to slingshots and marbles. LOL

Team Stat Rankings

After the game 6 win over Wake and with changes from last week in parentheses:

#12 Scoring O (up 4)
#10 Total O (up 9)
#25 Pass O (up 9)
#30 Rush O (up 4)
#51 3rd Down Conversion (up 31)
#45 Red Zone Scoring (up 17)
#14 Sacks Allowed (up 3)

#50 Scoring D (up 15)
#60 Total D (up 20)
#56 Pass D (up 22)
#65 Rush D (up 13)
#17 3rd Down D (up 7)
#47 Red Zone D (down 4)
#18 Tackles for Loss (up 12)
#51 Sacks (up 8)

#4 Turnover Margin (up 2)

We improved in every single category except red zone defense, reflecting the totality of our victory yesterday on both sides of the ball. On third downs we were 7-11 yesterday and I think we scored on all of our red zone trips, boosting those two rankings considerably.

Top 10 in total offense now. Who would have thought that after the UGA game? Just an amazing turnaround. I told someone recently that we are arguably better at all 11 positions this season vs 2023, and when you’re better even marginally at every single spot it has an incredible impact on overall production.

The defense continues to improve. The TFLs are there but I’m still worried about our pass rush. The D had me thinking toward the end of the first half yesterday that we might be headed toward a bit of a shootout, but they were fantastic in the second half. For comparison and in recognition of these rankings containing some noise from the yards given up in blowout wins, FEI had our defensive efficiency at #15 heading into yesterday, which I think is more appropriate than the #9 we were ranked prior to the FSU game.

My .02

I would love it if CU went back to black big play stickers like 1981 especially over our bad ass paw

Member since specifically 9-11-2001. Graduate of SMU and Clemson.

Partied with Ron Meyers back in the day… knew Bobby Collins who was always fiddlin with his bad ass Rolex with a pony in the face

CU gonna be overrun with rich ass Tevans next year. Us poors in TR gonna be swamped

So fun. I was in the room when David Berst gave us the Death Penalty in 1986. Its crazy how far we have cone

Did 25 years of bullshit in the ATL. Moving back to the Upstate- TR with no traffic and God loving people was the best thing I’ve ever done

Everybody asks. Im Clemson 4 Life. I don’t post but this is the greatest site eva. I always say i will never quit or give up on the Tigers

Prayers for Western NC. Its so much worse than anybody reporting. Our government has betrayed us

Prayer Request

I have been on the board since 2007 as Cumiles and now Jackclaws mostly as observer. I an asking for those that will to say a prayer for my wife of 46 years this morning. She had a pulmonary embolism last Thursday. She survived it and was sent home earlier his week. She had to return yesterday for complications and during the evaluation they discovered an apparently unrelated brain tumor. We will learn today the composition and I would ask if you will to say a prayer this morning for her.
Thank you.
We were supposed to be going to Wake game today . She always wanted to see wake and the old town.

Boise St Ranking

I know the AP and Coaches polls don’t mean anything. But just looking thru the rankings, does Boise State deserve more respect??

Their sole loss is to potentially #2 Oregon, on the road, on a very controversial call. I’d assume Oregon will be #2 if the committee released their first poll tomorrow.

I’d argue they have the best resume amongst 1 loss teams outside of Ohio State and UGA, and I don’t even think UGA has the best resume amongst 1 loss teams.

Ohio State - loss @Oregon
UGA - loss to @Alabama
Tennessee - loss to unranked Arkansas on the road
LSU - loss to USC on neutral site
Clemson - loss to UGA on neutral site
A&M - loss to ND

Plus, they have a Heisman candidate.

Hate to say this but I actually think Clemson doesn’t have the quality wins that a LSU or A&M have although I think we beat both if we played tomorrow

Just typing some thoughts after watching football all day

Talk to me about Boston

I’ve got a 3 night, 4 day trip in Boston coming up in early October. My party and I have never been, so I’m open to all of the must-see/do/eat things. Given the time of year, I think at least one day will be spent trekking up to Salem to do spooky season things. The Bruins are in town one night too, so that’s being kicked around as a possibility. But what else is on your Boston to-do list, Tiger fans?
