My wife just returned to the workforce once our youngest started school full time. We had a long-time housekeeper who took a full-time job and is no longer cleaning houses. Two things I'm seeking are first and foremost: trustworthy, especially since they may be in the house with no one there. Second, reasonable price. The cleaning doesn't have to be perfect, just need to take some burden off my wife for the big stuff.

Next year looks to be a down year for Clemson players getting drafted early. With that said (including players who are draft eligible):

Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
-1st to 2nd round. More traditional LB but excellent in all phases-run support, pass rush, pass coverage. Not super athletic, but instincts are elite. Not a highly coveted position in NFL but he should one of the top, if not the top LB in next year's draft. Could go in the top 15.

Barrett Carter
-2nd to 4th round. Less traditional LB similar to past Clemson freak athletic LBs. Superb athlete whose combine measurables will open eyes. Has the same feel as Trenton Simpson. With some size added and the growing need for more athletes on the field in the NFL, Carter and Trotter could be 1-2 LBs on most boards next year.

Will Shipley
-3rd to 5th round. The RB position has almost become about as important as the punter in the NFL. Most teams use 2-3 RBs a game now with the role mostly relegated to versatility in the passing game and increase in zone read concepts. With that in mind, Shipley is a hard worker, ultra competitive and is skilled in concepts mentioned earlier. I think he should also strike while the Christian McCaffrey comps are still fresh, no matter how eye-rolling and exhaustive it gets.

Tyler Davis
-3rd to 5th round. The Grady Jarrett comps are relevant. Clemson's defense takes on a different persona when TD is in the game. NFL loves defensive linemen, but TD is a bit undersized and that will affect his draft status.

Jake Briningstool
-3rd to 6th round. NFL has fallen in love with tall, athletic pass catching TEs. Jake needs to add some weight and improve blocking (personally didn't pay much attention to his blocking but haven't seen or heard that he is necessarily good or bad, so I err on the side of improving). Has a chance to put up some big numbers receiving this year, as he is expected to be a top target in this offense. I doubt he declares but the potential is high with a big year.

Ruke Orhorhoro
-4th to 7th round. Has become a solid DL with a little explosion and energy when in the game. Once again, NFL loves DL but his draft status could take a big hit because of elite talent that will most likely take some of his snaps.

Walker Parks
-5th to UDFA. Has some nasty to him and somewhat versatile position-wise. Looked the part early as a freshman but seems to have stagnated a little. Clemson OL-to-NFL history hasn't been kind. I feel, however, he will find his way into a starting lineup somewhere and have a decent career.

Xavier Thomas
-7th to UDFA. Freakish athlete who had some setbacks, but even when healthy, it doesn't fully translate onto the field. Undersized, gets washed out on a lot of plays and seems to be a one-trick pony (outside speed rush). Needs to have a double digit sack year and really improve affecting the pocket to up his draft status.

Nate Wiggins
-7th to UDFA. My gut tells me he declares next year and we can add him to the "should've come back for his last year" list. Athletic, decent cover skills (definitely improved after WF debacle), will come up to attack the run, and typical Clemson rangy corner....but, very thin frame and has had some embarrassing lapses.

Andrew Mukuba
-7th to UDFA. Looked the part as a true freshman, but has flamed out. Built like a corner, but coverage skills are abysmal. Undersized as a safety. Needs to have big improvement to sniff the 7th round but not impossible.

Below is a summary of information about the nomination process and eligibility.

Ring of Honor Guidelines

Purpose: The charge of the Ring of Honor committee is to bestow the highest athletic award presented by the Clemson Athletic Department on deserving candidates. The committee will examine the careers of candidates in all Clemson sports.

Nominations: Nominations will be made in the form of a letter with a list of accomplishments submitted to the chair of the committee, who will retain an active file of nominations. Letters of support may also be submitted. The Chair of the Committee will screen all nominations to make sure they meet eligibility requirements.

Eligibility: This committee will recognize individuals who have demonstrated consistent and unique national excellence in their sport during their Clemson career. Their accomplishments must be significant on an individual and team basis. Their statistical accomplishments must be noteworthy, but they should also have an outstanding record in terms of leadership. In general, they must have made a noteworthy contribution to the history of the Clemson Athletic Program.

Athletic accomplishments after their Clemson career are not a primary consideration in the nomination, but they must retain a strong record of citizenship after they leave Clemson.

A candidate must be a member of the Clemson Hall of Fame, and must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year University or college.

Financial contributions to Clemson University will not be a consideration when evaluating the candidates.

For a coach to be nominated, he or she must be retired from coaching that sport at the college level.

I have been a hard core Clemson football fan for 55 years. I love Clemson football and have seen hundreds of games live and in person, home and away. I love the guys who play for Clemson and I am not particularly concerned with how former Tigers do in the pro game.

Don Kelly was a great Clemson DB and Kick Returner. CJ had an unremarkable pro career, but I think he was the greatest open field runner in the history of college football. Did any college player have more TD runs of greater than 50 yards than CJ Spiller? I think not.

Dwight Clark was a nice Clemson receiver, but he was a bigger name in the pro game than in the college game. I am happy for Clark's success and name in the NFL, but as a Clemson player he was not in the same league as Jerry Butler or Perry Tuttle or more than a few other excellent Tiger wide receivers.

RayRay was a much ballyhooed high school player and he has been a fine pro player. But no Clemson punt or kick returner ever muffed as many punts as Ray Ray and kept his job.

Dantzer was an other worldly college QB. If 6 was in the game, he could win it at the college level. His game did not translate well to the NFL level and I don't give a darn. Anyone who saw Dantzler play his last few years as a Tiger QB knows he was one of the best college players ever.

Mitch Hyatt started for Clemson at offensive line. In his four years as an O-lineman, Clemson won four conference titles and 2 national titles. In his last year on the O-line, in the last ten minutes of the game Clemson ran all over a much praised Alabama team. Before Hyatt and his buddies beat the crap out of Alabama, some said the Tide that year was a 'best ever' team. Mitch Hyatt was not a big success in the NFL, but please do not try to talk me out of how great a college o-lineman I think he was.

I do not easily speak badly about any man who ever played football for The Tigers. They are all better men than me, all great athletes and all get my support. Anthony Rose was as good a football player as I was ever pleased to watch play the game. Steve Fuller was a great great college QB.

First round, last round or never played lick in the NFL is immaterial to me. I love all the guys who played for our Tigers.

Think anyone will draft him?

Has anyone ever done the Clemson baseball package for a kids birthday party? We are doing it next Saturday for my 7 year olds party. It was $200 and you get 10 tickets, $5 concession voucher for each ticket, image and video of birthday kid on Baird during the game and after the game they run the bases and meet the Coach. I think it’s a really cool idea and a neat thing they do. Just curious to know if anyone else has ever done it and have any feedback on how it went?

With Ravens drafting Trenton Simpson , the Panthers are now the only team in NFL to have never drafted a Clemson player.

Grice Named National Player-of-the-Week & ACC Pitcher-of-the-Week

Junior lefthander Caden Grice (Greer, S.C.) was named ACC Pitcher-of-the-Week, announced Monday by the league office. He joined North Carolina’s Mac Horvath, who was named ACC Player-of-the-Week, in receiving conference accolades. ACC baseball weekly honors are determined by a vote of a select media panel and are announced on Mondays throughout the regular season.

It was the fourth time Grice received ACC weekly honors in his career and his first as a pitcher, as he received player accolades twice as a freshman in 2021 and once in March 2023. He is the sixth Tiger in history to earn ACC weekly honors four times in a career and first since Seth Beer (2016-18). Grice was also named one of 15 national players-of-the-week by Collegiate Baseball on Monday, marking the fifth week he was named a national player-of-the-week during his career.

Grice led Clemson to a 3-1 week, including a series win at No. 11 Boston College, with outstanding performances at the plate and on the mound. He went 7-for-16 (.438) with two homers, three doubles, 10 RBIs, four runs, a 1.000 slugging percentage and .526 on-base percentage in four games.

In Clemson’s win over Kennesaw State on Tuesday, he went 3-for-4 with a homer, double, five RBIs, two runs and two walks. Then in Clemson’s series-opening win at Boston College in the first game of a doubleheader on Friday, he went 3-for-5 with a homer, two doubles, three RBIs and two runs. In the series finale at Boston College on Saturday, he hit a key two-run single in the second inning.

In the same game, he pitched 8.0 innings, allowing only two hits, one earned run and two walks with nine strikeouts to earn the win in Clemson’s 6-3 victory. He set career highs for innings pitched and strikeouts, as it was the longest outing by a Tiger since 2021.

On the season, he is hitting .312 with 11 homers, a triple, 12 doubles, 44 RBIs, 37 runs, a .617 slugging percentage, .414 on-base percentage and three steals in 41 games (40 starts) at the plate. He is also 4-1 with a 3.50 ERA, .183 opponents’ batting average and 57 strikeouts against 23 walks in 43.2 innings pitched over nine starts on the mound.

Xi’s tweet is raw and powerful, and makes us think about the dangers of totalitarianism and the consequences of forcing our beliefs on others. It’s a good reminder that democracy is built on the free speech and open discussion. When we impose our beliefs on others and censor them in the name of “good” and “fairness,” we undermine everything this county was founded on.
Dems are the party of authoritarianism and censorship, and they force their beliefs on others while silencing any opposing views. If you have to resort to authoritarian measures to impose you ideology, that means your beliefs aren’t strong enough to stand on their own, and you’re probably not the “good guys” after all.

@The Mixed Mamba , @ClemsonO.Co , other fellow Raider fans what do you think of our draft this year? I like it in general but certainly has to be some development and growth with some of the picks. Wilson can be a monster if he reaches his potential and Mayer is a stud. Beyond that, I think everyone has warts or limitations which is pretty normal.

The optimistic me sees a lot of the same type makeup that some of those classic Patriots teams had with getting the right “role players” to compliment the stars. O’Connell is a gamer who can be coached into not putting the ball in jeopardy as much. He led the Big 10 in passing and was arguably better last year. Tre Tucker could be a very good returner and kick coverage guy and whatever he gives in the passing game is a bonus. The DBs have made their share of plays but each have a weakness or two. The LB from Florida has made plays in a lot of different ways. The two DTs look like they could quickly become rotational players.

The pessimistic me says we got one almost certain sure thing in Mayer and everybody else is potential.

Congratulations to new PWO commit QB Colby Shaw from J F Byrnes High School! Just a little prejudiced because he is the son of a cousin of mine. He has good size, excellent stats, great character, All State in football, plays Lacrosse, got all A’s in High School, except one B in AP Calculus. He bleeds Orange, his granddad graduated from Clemson, and despite misgivings of his parents, he only applied to one school, Clemson. He insists on paying for school himself, and through hard work and some scholarships, he has raised over half so far to pay for his first year.
We need more people like this in the world!

What can you TI baseball experts tell me about what we can expect in terms of returning players next season? Just looking at the roster, it appears that the vast majority of our position players are juniors or older and have a chance to go in the draft. Which of them, if any, are unlikely to get drafted high enough to leave?

Same question for the pitching staff- on the surface it appears that more of our pitching returns but which of the older guys are also likely to come back?

Give me a good guess about our lineup and starting rotation next season. I've enjoyed watching their improvement this year. TIA

Roy Philpott has been an ESPN play-by-play announcer for a decade, and occasionally his job will bring him back to the place he went to school and worked.

He was back at his alma mater for the recent Clemson spring game, standing on the field and following a mic'd-up Dabo Swinney.

Philpott was a publisher at Scout.com and covered Clemson on a daily basis back when Swinney arrived as Tommy Bowden's newest hire in 2003. He has vivid memories of the day in October of 2008 when Swinney was elevated to interim head coach, and then the day in December when Swinney got the job for good.

Swinney's press conference that day inspired Philpott to pursue his broadcasting dream. And several years later, Swinney helped Philpott land a job at ESPN. He's been there ever since, calling college football, basketball, baseball and softball.

Also in the podcast, we talk memorable run-ins with Vic Koenning and Brad Scott -- and the day in 2003 when Philpott's site caused a firestorm by speculating that Bowden would be fired, leading to a question by another media member that almost caused Bowden to break down crying.
