“Pro life”

This was just a dumbass excuse used by the OBGYN. If a doctor cites a medical emergency, unless there’s just some sort of pattern, nobody is going win a lawsuit, especially if the mother agrees to the abortion to save her life. People sue doctors all the time to get some settlement money. My cousin is an obgyn and they’ve got a ton of malpractice insurance. They’re making quick decisions and also listening to these mothers as best they can.

You never know the conversation. The mom could’ve been begging to not do anything if there was still a heartbeat.

It’s fascinating though how this topic gets thrown around during elections and nobody cares. I work at an office full of women and they’re like well here we go again. Nobody cares.

The genius marketing ploy was changing it from “Pro-Life” “Pro-Choice” and protecting the life of the unborn to protecting “Women’s Rights”. That is much more palatable and genius from the democrats.

It’s also fascinating how political sides were chosen as this is much more of a spiritual issue than political.

As a conservative, why in the hell would you want 75 million (much more after they reproduce) extra low-income drain on the system humans who have a higher likelihood of crime, welfare, etc added to our country? Vast majority with single family moms who didn’t even desire to raise the kid. They would have ZERO chance. Harsh, but reality.

Liberals often act as the group who likes to protect “the least of these” - and it’s hard to think of a more vulnerable group than the unborn.

Pro-life is something evangelical conservatives ( those that follow Jesus) cannot budge on. The Bible is pretty clear on this.

But yeah, I get what you're saying. I think it even says it in the book freakonomics.

IF the democrats had picked to be on team pro-life, which makes way more sense imo…I think they’d win a ton of elections if they had that in their back pocket.

Yeah, But it would be another conundrum for feminists and the sexual promiscuous.

12 states have banned abortion. They could have gone to 38 others to get a legal abortion.
The two closest states for legal abortion are Kansas and New Mexico. Not everyone has the ability to drive/fly/etc to another state to then pay for an abortion. This is just another lovely side effect of the abortion ban that Conservatives don't care about because you're not actually "pro life".

edit: It's also an unfortunate byproduct of when women would go to Texas hospitals with pregnancy complications and the doctors refused to work on them out of fear of lawsuits from damaging the fetus.

This is a straw man argument with logical falicies.

Fallacies.

Conservatives not being pro-life is not a straw man, it's a fact.

Are you saying that doctors in Texas aren't being handcuffed by the archaic laws put in place wrt women's health? I guess it's just people being lazy that has caused the uptick in sepsis.

I would say that most Conservatives are pro-life. I would use the correct definition of pro-life not the one Liberals have constructed.

Pro-life
adjective. (of an organization, pressure group, etc) supporting the right to life of the unborn; against abortion, experiments on embryos, etc.

Lol, good work SC, if legit. For whatever reason you can't link a reddit img on here. The SC total abortion ban bill scheduled to be heard by the House Judiciary Subcommittee on March 4 at 9am at the State House. No exceptions for rape, incest, or fetal anomaly. Makes doctors felons and prohibits common IVF practices.
