What an absolute shvt show and an embarrassment.
If "Pick Me" Becky actually did make statements, which I am on the fence about but not as convinced as I was that this is a Dick n' Poot scam, the murdering Ginger deserves a new trial. Its too slippery of a slope to go down. There should never even be a perception of court personnel in any way communication/injecting their thoughts on a trial. I undermines the justice system IMO.
All Becky had to do was her job, which was order lunch, and she saw her 15 minutes opportunity. SMDH.
The 1 juror testified that she felt pressure from the JURY (not Hill as stated in her affidavit), which happens in every case. That won't be enough to overturn, but the judge will determine.
Missed most of this, but Becky Hill needs to take the stand if she hadn't.

The first juror (Juror Z) said that she felt that Becky's comments to "watch Alex closely" and "pay attention to him" influenced her. Juror Z said that Becky's comments made it seem like he was guilty.
The rest of the jurors gave completely innocuous testimony.
Well from what I understand she won't get much lawyering if that is what she is using to hire counsel.
I'm sure there is some deal that will have the taxpayers paying for her defense since she was a state actor when she decided that she wanted to be in a starring role.
Justice Toal kept a tight rein on Poot all morning with the jurors - especially during his arguments.
But she gave him a lot of latitude when Harpootlian questioned Becky Hill - and she asked Becky Hill a lot of questions herself.
I think that Justice Toal isn't looking kindly on an officer of the court writing a book about the trial, arguably mishandling exhibits, and potentially causing all of this mess with the post-trial motions.

I would assume the Proctors (Maggie's sister and BIL. Or maybe one of his brothers or his sister.

Is this the end of the Murdaugh saga? Other than an appeal on the murder charges (which I give him close to 0% chance of even getting a retrial), this story might be more or less over.

how many pages and views will this thread get if that happens...I personally think this is a he said/she said thing and impossible to prove unless more jurors come forward. Also, with the Murdaugh family history, it makes you wonder if the ones who haven't turned on Alex have found their way to jurors with compensation.

Justice Toal already addressed Juror Z's allegations, and the Egg Lady is just looking for attention.
This is mostly the Poot machine trying to drum up chaos and confuse the issues, but fortunately courts generally see through all the smoke and noise.
I watched a few clips of the interview with those two ladies... In my opinion, they did far more harm than good... the one who claimed she was influenced by Hill is clearly misremembering what happened. The Egg lady seems to want publicity. I think she is more interested in selling her book than anything else. It is supposed to be TWICE the price of the other mainstream books out there.
So these two had the opportunity to tell Judge Toal about this months after the trial but kept quiet, ok!!

Joe Scarborough runs in the same power circles in SC as Poot. Not advancing any conspiracy but I find it interesting that he is representing Egg Lady. His services aren't cheap but he could be doing it just for the publicity.

I know this Supreme Court fairly well. I am confident that the first line written of the opinion will be the last line read "Motion for New Trial is Denied".
