I feel that she’s stated she wants wording changed regarding greenhouse gas emissions, pharmaceutical protections for big companies, and workers rights. She’s negotiating the points that she disagrees with and has publicly stated those things. Trump just screams that she doesn’t do anything and it’s been a “done deal for months.” That’s not true - there are specific things being negotiated and I would love to see him address those things with a solution. Regardless, the USMCA is one deal and I hope it gets done. That’s still only one trade deal replacing/modifying NAFTA..not exactly groundbreaking progress or change.
It’s not about blaming anyone. The fact is, Trump doesn’t have the volume of work done that other presidents do. He can’t complete deals because he really thinks he is above the person on the other side of the table. He’s admitted that he’s never asked for forgiveness. He’s said that he doesn’t regret anything he does. He refuses to apologize. You just can’t deal with someone like that.
Imo, rejecting globalism is a silly idea. I don’t think that’s what is happening nor do I think it would be a good idea for either party to believe this. That’s a different conversation though. And “look at how Trump has stood up for Hong Kong” - man. Trump would have you believe that it is him personally standing up for HK. Don’t you remember like last week when we were all waiting to see if he’d sign the HK bill during the trade war? All the rest of the dems and repubs pushed the bill through and he eventually signed. They all deserve credit including the president. Trump isn’t standing up for HK on his own. America is.
Edit: you can’t want USMCA and denounce globalism but bump on the report coming out
