Can you imagine...

I did t realize we were drafting police officers now. I thought it was a job they chose to take.

I also thought we were free and innocent until proven guilty.

Btw the officer's initial explanation was she was justified because he didn't comply with a lawful order. She forgot she was off duty, and trespassing at the time, making it not a lawful order.

I am not disagreeing on her being worthy of heavy charges at all. If she tried to exercise police authority, then it becomes murkier, and probably shot with a police owned weapon. My bigger point is everyone on the left goes nuts when anything related to police shooting citizens occurs, but you can hear birds chirp when citizens shoot police. My support and sympathy goes to the police overall, but its a case by case basis.

Her trying to cover it up doesn't even bother me. I wouldn't expect her NOT to. That's what people do when they commit crimes.

I have heard some other theories - perhaps they had a relationship, etc - but nothing that would justify the murder. Most of them would push it from manslaughter to premeditated.

As far as justify it? I don't even know how you WOULD.

Dana Loesh (NRA Spokeswoman) made a good point (and she got skewered for it) - imagine if he had been armed and shot her when she opened the door? It's really scary because I doubt anyone would believe him that she broke in. The bad guy (girl) would be dead and the victim would be alive, but he'd be in a world of hurt.

THAT scenario makes you think.

It's hard enough to convict a cop who kills an unarmed black man.

I agree with the last part of this post for sure. When I hear about a police shooting, I'm generally on the side of the police until I see convincing evidence that causes me to change my mind. I think that the left doesn't say anything when a policeman is shot b/c nothing needs to be said. The people that do this sort of thing need a date with the Death Penalty and I have little doubt that the police and our court system is working hard to make that happen. That's a good thing and I fully support it.

HOWEVER, when I see another unarmed black man get shot I'm less convinced that the police and court system are working hard to find out IF (and it's a big IF) the police are out of line. And when I see and hear things like the above (ie the police blaming the person who was by all accounts just sitting on the couch in his own house). I'm less convinced that a fair and impartial investigation is going on.
