Looking for expert legal help here... a few months ago was backed into in a parking lot. Police showed up and determined it was the other driver's fault.
Everybody is fine but after the car spent a month at collision repair shop StateFarm decided to total the vehicle when calibrating the vehicle started to push it over the threshold of fixing. The other party had statefarm and we did too.
We had just purchased the car 8 months ago and did not have gap insurance on it, so you guessed it, we owe more than its worth. Statefarm wants to pay what the value of the car is and then I'm stuck with a bill for a couple thousand bucks. W/o gap insurance, am I stuck with the difference no matter what?
