China Trade War under Trump vs Biden/ Harris

Can someone explain to me how Trump’s trade war was a tax on Americans but Biden/ Harris expanding the trade war isn’t?

I have a feeling it’s similar to obama/ Biden’s migrant child cages. Or the genocide the committed in Syria. Only an issue when orange man does it?

If you put tariffs on goods imported to the USA from China, that is in reality, a tax on the American consumer. Both Trump and Harris campaigns seems to want to do tariffs, but disagree on the amount. Tump want's 60% tariff.... Harris want's less. Either way its an increase cost to our pockets.

Its a great way to raise inflation.

Now, the other side to this is
1) China's ability to make cheap stuff with cheap labor is in jeopardy, because of vairious factors like aging population and a looming financial crisis.
2) China is choosing sides between the west and Russia right now. This may be a unified front from the CIA. Like no matter who wins, we are going to sink China with economic warfare to get them in line.
3) China's collapse is expected and as such we will have to build out American supply chains to counter the loss of their cheap products.

Yeah but it sounds better to argue that they just both want a trade war and ignore the very different ways they would wage the war. That way you can just make up any crazy sounding goddamn shit you want like the OP just did.

I’m against a trade war. Was when socialist Trump did it and against while Biden and Kamala are doing it. I’m consistent. I’m just trying to understand why there are two set of standards for the same policies.

I'm not arguing econ or world trade. I'm pointing out the flaw in the way you're framing the argument in your original post. But, you definitely know that already.

I am glad to know you’re credible. You’ve always came across that way. I’ve always thought we align morally with most things, just disagree on root causes.
