Is it so hard to say that they took a headline, grabbed an incorrect amount, didn't understand the location, took the item and created an incorrect scenario for what it was being used for to cause outrage? It truly makes me not want to trust literally anything said if you can't just say "I f'ed up, but we still think American's at home need these funds more, and that the debt is a huge issue and we shouldn't be providing aid around the world with an unbalance budget". Instead, they do backflips to try to explain that the embarrassing misunderstanding was truly correct, and everyone questioning it, they are the unreasonable one.Cmon Huck, I’ve done this already. They sent that money to Gaza, Mozambique to help fight HIV. There’s literal videos on YouTube of reporters stating that the money for condoms was actually used in Mozambique. The videos are of reporters in the WH. You think they’re lying?
And before you say it doesnt specify condoms, I’d ask how else you prevent AIDS?
Did you listen to the clip? He says he was wrong about it going to Gaza but he still isn’t sure we should be shelling out millions to any country. Not when we have Flint, East Palestine, Maui, WNC, California, etc. I thibk most Americans agree with that. Not to mention the deficit soaring into the heavens. Is it so hard to say that they took a headline, grabbed an incorrect amount, didn't understand the location, took the item and created an incorrect scenario for what it was being used for to cause outrage? That is all fine. Just make sure you understand what you're talking about before trying to cause outrage with an item. Like the leader of the free world and the people that represent him should.Did you listen to the clip? I also think this is a way to keep us divided. We are arguing over where it was sent, not whether it was sent. We are debating if it was all condoms or just partially. Fact is we shouldn’t be involved in any of that when we have a mess at home. It’s wasteful. And not one Americans life will be impacted for the better. I live 20 minutes from Lake Lure, it looks like a war zone in a third world country. There’s cars in the rivers, houses erased. Could that 50mm be useful there?. Just my personal opinion.
Why are working class Americans funding family planning programs is Jordan and Yemen?"Refugees International President Jeremy Konyndyk, who oversaw USAID’s COVID-19 assistance portfolio for the Biden administration, refuted Trump and Leavitt’s claims Wednesday on X.
“USAID procures condoms for around $0.05 apiece,” he wrote. “$50m would be ONE BILLION condoms. What’s going on here is NOT a billion condoms for Gaza. What’s going on is that the bros at DOGE apparently can’t read govt spreadsheets.”
USAID’s financial year 2023 report on contraceptive and condom shipments, the most recent data available, notes that only one Middle Eastern country — Jordan — received a small shipment of injectables and oral contraceptives valued at $45,680 for government programs only. This was USAID’s first shipment to the Middle East since financial year 2019.
USAID reports from the first three-quarters of 2024 show the only family planning programs funded by the agency in the Middle East were in Jordan and Yemen."

FACT FOCUS: No evidence that $50 million was designated by the US to buy condoms for Hamas
President Donald Trump claimed during the Laken Riley Act signing that his administration had “identified and stopped $50 million being sent to Gaza to buy condoms for Hamas.”apnews.com
What’s a bigger deal long term. That Elon didn’t verbalize correctly or that he found literally billions in waste. I think a lot of the left is missing the point here. You’re mad Elon didn’t get it 100% right but you’re not mad at the politicians that have been sending money over there? It’s hard to understand. That is all fine. Just make sure you understand what you're talking about before trying to cause outrage with an item. Like the leader of the free world and the people that represent him should.
Ask JFK, ask Reagan, ask the Bushes and every other president that understood why it's important for us to help struggling nations by providing aid. Ask epidemiologists why it's good for us to stop potential pandemics in their tracks before they get to our border. Then ask yourself why Trump is the only one that doesn't give a f about anything other than what benefits him alone. Why are working class Americans funding family planning programs is Jordan and Yemen?
They get WNC cleaned up yet?
Does Congress represent the American people? In other words if Washington came to the American people and said we want to use your tax dollars for HIV prevention in Africa what do you think the response would be? It would’ve never been approved but now you’re mad we found it????
How does taking care of the people in the country you lead benefitting him alone?Ask JFK, ask Reagan, ask the Bushes and every other president that understood why it's important for us to help struggling nations by providing aid. It is literally in a public budget. Voted on by Congress. There is discussions to be had, but by acting like these are condoms going to Hamas to create bombs instead of the mature discussion you’re now attempting to have, you don’t see how that is harmful? To even your own position? What’s a bigger deal long term. That Elon didn’t verbalize correctly or that he found literally billions in waste. I think a lot of the left is missing the point here. We've had a roaring economy before Trump and my own company just had a record breaking year that even exceeded our greatest expectations. If we had continued with his plans, including the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023, we wouldn't have had to damage every sector of the government the way we're doing now.How does taking care of the people in the country you lead benefitting him alone?
I agree. There should be complete transparency when it comes to all of this. I think that’s what is so jarring. Most people I know are confused by this. They don’t seem to be able to separate aid from waste. Lots of, well it’s in the budget. Just because it’s something that we’ve been doing doesn’t mean it’s right. It is literally in a public budget. Voted on by Congress. There is discussions to be had, but by acting like these are condoms going to Hamas to create bombs instead of the mature discussion you’re now attempting to have, you don’t see how that is harmful? To even your own position?
But you are still uncomfortable with qualified women and people of color. Just not not as much as “unqualified”I think it’s more unqualified people that makes most of us uncomfortable.
For example:
Delta Air Lines Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer:“We’re really proud that we’ve eliminated the required college degree in more than 90% of our jobs. It’s plain and simple, EQUITY is the motive.”
Is it more confusing or less confusing by saying we are sending 50mm worth of condoms to be used in bomb making to Hamas in Gaza?I agree. There should be complete transparency when it comes to all of this. I think that’s what is so jarring. Most people I know are confused by this. They don’t seem to be able to separate aid from waste. Lots of, well it’s in the budget. Just because it’s something that we’ve been doing doesn’t mean it’s right.
Only people who already have preconceived notions about women and people of color’s ability to do jobs would question if that played a role.I'll continue to question it as long as it's a part of the qualifications.
SOMETHING went wrong when that plane crashed. I've seen several pilots on youtube videos posit that the crash was due to pilot error. Are you suggesting we should not look into the pilots if the cause was pilot error? Do you not want accountability?
If gender and skin color, which have nothing to do with ability, are not a part of the pilot hiring process, we wouldn't have to question it would we?
DEI needs to DIE.
Who said that? Cite what you’re referring to please. Is it more confusing or less confusing by saying we are sending 50mm worth of condoms to be used in bomb making to Hamas in Gaza?
I couldn’t care less. If they’ve earned it. They deserve it. Period. But you are still uncomfortable with qualified women and people of color. Just not not as much as “unqualified”
You also realize that white men also don’t go to college right? Shocking I know.
I’m sorry but this is just incoherent. This is just thoughtless propaganda. Show me what you’re referring to. You can’t just say he’s gonna add 4.5 trillion to our deficit with nothing factual to back it up. I live near a national park. It’s open and fine. What arts? Medical research? We've had a roaring economy before Trump and my own company just had a record breaking year that even exceeded our greatest expectations. If we had continued with his plans, including the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023, we wouldn't have had to damage every sector of the government the way we're doing now.
Are you telling me that destroying the federal government, including things like national parks, the arts and medical research is benefitting us? Are you telling me that tariffs, which are just taxes on American citizens, is benefitting us? Are you telling me that running up our debt another 4.5 T will benefit us? What he's doing now is radical and harming millions and there is no good plan to address the fallout. And no, the cuts they're making are only a drop in the bucket and not worth the price that everyone else will pay.
It would have been better to do nothing than what he's doing.
Ah so you are the one who thinks all jobs should have college degrees. Period.I couldn’t care less. If they’ve earned it. They deserve it. Period.
But we also shouldn’t be lowering standards to promote inclusion. Period.
Not a chance. Period.Ah so you are the one who thinks all jobs should have college degrees. Period.
Trump did.Who said that? Cite what you’re referring to please.

Did he ever say he misspoke on this? I’m genuinely asking, I’m not a die hard trump guy believe it or not. He’s just much closer to my vision of America than Kamala was.Trump did.
“We identified and stopped $50m being sent to Gaza to buy condoms for Hamas,” Trump said on Wednesday. “They used them as a method of making bombs. How about that?”
I'm not referring to the past, I'm talking about the last couple years where the economy has been roaring and didn't need a radical overhaul like this, especially considering it's being done to benefit the people who need it the least in the top 1%.I’m sorry but this is just incoherent. This is just thoughtless propaganda. Show me what you’re referring to. You can’t just say he’s gonna add 4.5 trillion to our deficit with nothing factual to back it up. I live near a national park. In regards to your business. When are you talking about. Are you saying he hurt you business from 16-20 or just in the first four weeks of the administration?
I think Musk did, but Trump has not.Did he ever say he misspoke on this? I’m genuinely asking, I’m not a die hard trump guy believe it or not. He’s just much closer to my vision of America than Kamala was.

Just a heads up that nobody watches your endless spam videos that you continually insert into EVERY SINGLE THREAD. You're just destroying the board for nothing, so I beg you, please get a hobby in your retirement!

"One reason for the erosion of support: a slight majority of respondents in both surveys said Trump has overstepped his presidential power in his attempts to reshape the federal government driven by tech billionaire Elon Musk. Many of Trump’s most controversial early initiatives, including a sweeping spending freeze, have been blocked in court thus far, but the new administration has still made waves with layoffs of federal workers, cuts to federal contracts and a flood of executive orders.
Those activities haven’t been popular, the new polling found. In the Post survey, for example, 58 percent of respondents opposed laying off large numbers of federal workers. And Musk, Trump’s most high-profile adviser, is not getting good marks either: Just 34 percent of respondents in the Post poll approved of Musk’s role in the federal government, while 54 percent of respondents in the CNN poll said it was bad for Trump to have given the SpaceX CEO a prominent role in his administration.
Americans also remain skeptical of Trump’s handling of an issue the public has long said is among the most important: high prices. In the CNN survey, 62 percent of respondents — including 47 percent of Republicans — said the president has not done enough to try to reduce the prices of everyday goods.
And tariffs, perhaps Trump’s signature economic issue so far, aren’t seen as a solution: 69 percent of respondents in the Post poll said tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China would make products in the U.S. more expensive."
He can do whatever he wants but I just think it's rude to continually bomb every single thread with low IQ propaganda from every random jacknob on Twitshit. Even if I agreed with everything he posts, I'd still think it was obnoxious because it's overkill and oftentimes it's completely unrelated to the discussion and just meant to disrupt conversation that he doesn't like, and it's not near as funny or poignant as he thinks it is. It's like he hovers on the board just waiting for the next post so he can search terms on Twitshit to drop another twat that he doesn't vet and could care less if it's true. AI is not going to teach and individual how to problem solve and think critically for themselves. It’s not going to teach them or deconstruct an argument in such a manner that enables them to understand and empathize with all sides of said argument, even the ones they disagree with. It’s not going to teach them proper soft skills such as leadership, collaboration, and a basic “reading of the room”. Those are the sort of things that can only come with a proper education.I'm curious if AI evens the playing field in education.
Anyone can learn anything from AI. Well, almost anything. It still can't reason, but i doubt it will be that much longer.
This should cut into the cost of education, one would think, and level the playing field for all income levels.
