This is moronic. If we consider this, we should just give it all back to the indians. They were here long before any white/black people. We literally took the nation form them if you want to look at it that way. Any plan that does not give the majority to those of indian descent is unsupportable. They lost more and were treated worse than slaves.
I'm not in favor of either, mind you but there is absolutely legitimate zero argument to be made black people deserve anywhere close to the reparations indians do. I'm a white guy of scotch irish/german decent. Maybe I can get in on this reparation deal a little- the irish were not treated particularly well at one point in our history.

Register all the different races and people in America then send all whites including me back to Eurasia, Blacks to Africa and of course Asian folk back to their homes
Then let the American Indians figure out who to let in

Young Americans are more conservative now than at any point in American history and it’s not close. There’s a very specific reason why that is. They’ve been told they’re racist, sexist, transphobic oppressors. They’ve been subjected to DEI, affirmative action and race/gender based discrimination. They attend the same school and know the same kids that are getting “accepted” and they know it’s wrong. They’ve watched as other friends and parents get denied entry into universities and occupations as race quotas are filled. They watch their families work and struggle while our government hands out record assistance to illegals, watched countless protests and cities be burnt and destroyed over minority drug addicts while watching politicians blame them. They watched the left try and destroy their lives with vaccine and mask mandates and shutting down our schools. They watch the lefts hypocrisy of climate change alarmism as people like the fraud Bernie are flying in private jets. In a poll at Yale JD Vance was three times more popular than Kamala in people under 30. The woke horseshit that captured this country for the last 15 years is over.

The problem is that they’ve intentionally caused division. Based on what I see and hear I would have to make the argument that blacks specifically are no better off than they were in 1980. Why? There’s one incredibly consistent theme in that community, democrat leadership. And instead of the liberals saying, “hey, our ideas are good, we are compassionate, but our policies are stupid let’s all work together” they said, “white people are the reason you’re struggling”. Now you have a problem because you have a side that thinks it’s being taken advantage of by the white man and the white people saying, “whoa whoa whoa we want equality”. This is what is causing that rift imo, it’s intentional. If things don’t change I suspect race relations will diminish and race isolationism will skyrocket. One group exasperated, one group angry, when we should be on the same team.

I mean this is just completely inaccurate. The Mayflower had ~130 people on it, a third of which was women/children? The Wampanoag tribe that they encountered were the main reason all of the settlers survived that first winter. They had 100x the population of the settlers and chose to teach them how to survive off the land and fostered trade. Smallpox had taken its toll due to trade with the Spanish prior to the settlers landing in 1620, but they could have easily murdered everyone on the Mayflower.
Should have made a slight clarification. Yes they could’ve killed the folks on the mayflower. I suspect when those men found out what happened there would have been hell to pay. To say Europeans didn’t know how to farm or survive is ridiculous. They had built civilizations across the oceans. It’s purely revisionism and smacks of the “whites have no culture and built nothing” narrative prevalent today. You think the people that built the damn Vatican didn’t know how to farm or trade????
This thread is one more example of a real epiphany I had recently.

The question is how would anyone in Europe find out that they were slaughtered by NAs? If the NAs wanted to be aggressive they'd be able to slaughter any small contingent of Europeans that came over, until Spain/England/Etc wanted to send a massive military force over. Which, they'd really have no reason to do unless they suspected the settlers were being slaughtered, which they wouldn't know unless a survivor somehow made it back to Europe.
Regarding the second part, it's a pretty indisputable fact that NAs were teaching early European settlers how to survive/cultivate domestic crops/etc. Hell, you can read the literal words from Governor William Bradford (First Plymouth Settlement Governor) explaining how the NAs taught the settlers how to survive/farm/etc in North America.
If you take into consideration the limited amount of soldiers you could put on a ship, the time and danger to cross the Atlantic, and then risk and probably death, at least for a while, the Natives could have easily kept the invaders at bay.
There is a reason the Colonists beat the British. That great big ocean was a massive weapon for our independence.
You speak on this as if you were there and there couldn’t be alternate explanations. The Vatican was built by Europeans 1200 years before they set foot in America. If you believe for two seconds that they needed NAs to teach them how to survive you’re more naive than I thought. These people had conquered all of Europe and most of North Africa. The way you describe this is - a bunch of dumb white ladies and kids got on a boat and the benevolent Indians took them in and rescued them and taught them how to survive. Then the whites murdered them all.

I'm on record a few weeks ago in this forum that I'm 100% for Reparations and have been for a long time. I also don't see it anti-capitalist. Just get everyone to the same starting position and let em cook.

I'm speaking on this using information directly sourced from the Governor of the first Plymouth colony - his LITERAL writings. What evidence/support are you using to the contrary? There are tons of writings detailing how Squanto and members of the Wampanoag tribe helped the first settlers with dealing with the harsh winter and managing native crops.
Just read Of Plimouth Plantation by William Bradford and he talks first hand about all the help the native tribes gave the settlers to survive that first year after they landed. It's not farfetched at all to think a crew of settlers would have difficulty dealing with crops they've never encountered in a terrain they've had no experience working.

Relating to my post, how can anyone justify reparations for black people without FIRST doing so for NA's? The treatment of NA's was FAR worse than any other group.
We all know the answer, of course. NA simply don't have enough votes to matter, which is the primary motivation of the dem party.
I'm not in favor of reparations.
I also don't think we should be erasing from our History how terribly we treated African Slaves in America.

NA's have had reparations actually, I think (probs should fact check this)- but I'm 100% for them getting them too. Especially since its an easy win and an incredibly smaller portion of the population.

I have not heard or seen anyone say the treatment of slaves was not abhorrent. Don't give me some single individuals viewpoint, either. I can find single moronic viewpoints on any subject. I'm talking about some type of systematic effort/example of teaching that slavery was not terrible.
There is a complete Whitewashing of our Government happening right now in the name of eliminating DEI.
I could also point to the group in Florida who claimed that slavery benefitted Blacks. That's now a part of the curriculum in the State of Florida.
Guys like FatPiggy say that acknowledging that we treated Slaves abominably is someone harmful to white people.
Thanks for sharing--I guess we have different life experiences. I'm grateful that I'm one of the very few straight, white, Christian males that has somehow evaded this persecution over the last 15 years.
Show me the curriculum. Does it say slavery was good? Or, is there an admittedly moronic blurb about the fact that some slaves would not have had access to food/shelter etc without slavery? Does it say slavery was an overall good thing/benefit for black people, or does it say the opposite?

I actually agree with @MTTiger19 alot on this topic, with the caveat that I think the Patriarchy is very real, that systemic racism is very real, White Privilege is undeniable, and that being "woke" (before MAGA coopted it to be satan's work) is actually really important for White folk in America, to realize the plight of minority cultures in the states.
But Damn, progressives really really screwed this up with the younger generations. Rather than helping them see their privilege, they were told they were the problem- Since birth. Imagine being a young white male, and instead of understanding your privilege to help others and come along side them, these young white males were told they were bad/racist/the problem from birth. Who would ever want to hear that? (Other than evangelicals, ofc, who really love internalized shame in the form of original sin).
We did a massive disservice to gen z and gen alpha young white men by demonizing them, without a framework of the systemic injustices they were unwillingly a part of. It should have been an avenue of empathy for those young white men, but rather it was used to bludgeon them. And they had no idea how or why they were being demonized, because progressives didn't work to show that they aren't the issue, but the systems are.
We've failed these younger generations with shitty messaging, especially the young white males.
Do a little research into Myles Standish and his interaction with the Indians. He was the military advisor for the Plymouth colony. He was also a real asshole.
