Department Of Education - Bye Bye

Fatpiggy has mase an official complaint against the Charlesto County School District for hosting a “Black Wall Street” event.

You may see something in the news about it shortly.

The board is not happy about my complaint and tries to dismiss me. However, I attached the letter fronm the Department of education that went out Friday and now all the sudden they want to talk to me about my concerns.

My concerns are race based programs should not receive public dollars. Period.

1. The lunch program is not run by the DOE. Free and reduced lunch will not be affected. At all.

2. The individualized eduction and special education program will be moved into Health and Human Services.

3. Federal Pell grants and Perkins loans will be moved to the Treasury.

4. Civil rights division will move into the DOJ-Civil Rights division.

It’s about returning control over education where it belongs, the states.

The Department of Education has 4,166 employees with a payroll price tag of 465 million dollars a year.

Since it was founded the test scores of American students have plummeted every single year.

Its existence in its current form is a prime example of waste, fraud and abuse.

Just read about the event. One of those things where you probably should find something better to do with your free time than try to end events like these.

Is learning and celebrating black history month also something you want removed?

Im not trying to end the event. I want to turn it into a district wide Wall Street Event that includes all kids.,

The part that rubbed me the wrong way was that 3 days earlier i took the day off of work and participated in career day. I took several computers to the school and set them up. Took the time to print out and display several items like stock charts etc. Paid for them. Spoke to and answered questions, from kids of all color, for about 5-6 hours.

And then 3 days later i get an email in my inbox for "Black Wall Street" day. What a slap in the face.

I emailed the district superintendent asking to host a "White Wall Street" day and was denied.

The good news is that it is easy to file a complaint with the office of civil rights. My complaint has been filed.

The timing of the letter that went out from the DOE was impeccable. They CCSD board dismissed my concerns less than 4 hours prior, and then that letter went out stating emphatically that the program is illegal.

I have asked for
1) The event to become a WALL STREET day for the whole district
or
2) It be privately funded and held on private property and not promoted with district dollars.

I'll let you know the outcome.

Do you understand the history of Black Wall Street?

Taking it as a slap in the face tells me you can’t separate your own self from this topic. Probably explains why you referred to yourself in third person.

Why can’t I have a White Wall Street day? I was officially denied.

Do you understand the history of White Wall Street?

Should we just do separate but equal? Or should we have one Great Wall Street day for everyone?

And for the record, YES i want black history month removed,

Black history is covered under the History category.

Anyone that doesn't like that position can please kindly defend renaming military bases and removing statues.
Are you sure??

Do you really want me to explain this to you or are you purposely being obtuse?

Again, I know its extremely hard for you to separate your own self from situations, perfect example again is you talking about yourself in the third person, but doing so in this matter MIGHT help you understand the purpose for an event like Black Wall Street.

Also I would recommend that you attend the event and you might actually learn something new.

Poor Straight,White,Christian,Men .. it's tough for them to get access and jobs...

Why can't we have our own events?

Maybe because all of the events until the last 20 years were only for you.

Good Lord.
Your white/asian guilt is showing. Damn. You're freaking pathetic.

What are you even trying to say?

That's a really bad attempt at an insult.
I wasn't trying to say anything. I said you are a white person that sometimes identifies as an Asian when it suits you. You feel guilty about it. No one cares about any of that but you. It's your guilt, and no one can help you with that.

I don't try to insult you. You insult yourself. Your stupidity reigns supreme.

The irony of you weighing in, in a thread about education......

You are trying so hard yet failing so badly.

Explain how I'm identifying as an Asian?

Wrong. Straight lie

This is the covert racism that the department of education speaks of

Are you really this stupid? You lie to yourself evidently. Where did yoshi come from? You've told us all before.

Personally, I don't care. However, if you're going to try and call me out, you'd better have your ducks in a row.

I thought you lived in Chicago?

Well yeah I don't have the power to remove posters when they clearly cross a line.

@Cris_Ard and other moderators do. Pretty simple to comprehend.
What line did I cross?

It's obvious I hurt your feelings by telling you the truth. You should blame your parents for raising a P***y. Calling on someone else to fix problems you created. Typical demonrat!

I think he thinks that since your handle is Yoshi that you're asian.

He's not exactly the brightest bulb, so it's hard to decipher what his dipshit redneck ramblings are actually about.

Even better. My username is from 2002, it was a dog we had that I named after the Nintendo character, because he was built like the little dinosaur.

Interesting back and forth on this “Black Wall Street” topic and “Black History”.

I don’t know anything about the “event” that Ole Piggy is talking about. I’m assuming, from reading between the lines, that it’s a special class or assembly, to explain finances and investing to black students??? If that is the case, I do see Ole Piggy’s point. Financial literacy is a dire need across all races. The last two generations, in general, lack appreciation and understanding of how money works even at the basic levels.

Now … if … the topic of this “Black Wall Street” event was to cover and review the Tulsa Race riots??? Sorry, @fatpiggy, I have to side with the opposition here. I’m 46, and the first I had ever heard of the Tulsa Race Riots and “Black Wall Street”, was when they wife and I were watching “The Watchmen” on HBO. I was astonished that it took a HBO series about a graphic novel series for me to hear that such an event had happened, and I know for a fact that I’m not alone. I wasnt surprised that the riots happened, considered the time period, but was shocked that I had never heard of it.

I do believe that we need to have an honest review and curriculum of our country’s history when it comes to race, but I firmly believe that history needs to be taught through a lens of “we have work to do, but look how far we have come “.

I dunno … just my two cents …

I should blame my parents for wanting moderators to fix problems I created because you called people a homophobic slur multiple times?

Did I get that right?

After reading up on the event, its more so about giving black business owners and entrepreneurs an opportunity to talk and teach students about business.

IMO, its an event to also provide representation to students who might not think there is representation in higher levels of society. I don't think other students of race are told not to participate btw.

I was like you about the Tulsa Race riots. Watching the show I thought it was just a fictional story they told and then was blown away to learn it really happened. That made me think, oh wow how little do I actually know about our country's battle with race.

Promoting growth through history is great. But we have to be honest like you said. Even when its uncomfortable.

Kinda like how Germany doesn't hide from their Nazi past and actively strive to keep it in the light because they don't want the past to happen again.

Ok. I’d like to teach the history of white Wall Street. Why is that not ok? Why was I denied?

Everybody say it with me.

Discrimination based on race is illegal.

Refusal to send out my White Wall Street is discrimination.

Either the district fixes it or I sue.
