The event is being financed with district dollars, and was promoted on the district email list and is being held at a district school.
The event is called BLACK WALL STREET. I was denied the opportunity to hold a WHITE WALL STREET event. This is illegal and blatant discrimination.
If they want to have a Black Wall Street event, they can have it with private dollars on private property.
As the law states, if they want to use public dollars and hold the event on public property and advertise the event with district resources, it needs to just be called WALL STREET DAY.
It is illegal to discriminate on the basis of race in this country. This is not hard. But apparently the racism is so ingrained in our leadership they don't know racism when it slaps them in the face.

If you, in good faith, told the district that you wanted to teach a class on Wall Street, they wouldn't have had an issue with that? Also, white Wlo Street is what is taught, since that is historically all that has ever been taught.

There is no Wall Street class in the schools right now.

I love the idea of an all inclusive wall street day. If they would like to have an exhibit about black wall street at Walls street day that is fine. As long as there can be an exhibit on Whte wall street day. We are all equal.
The litmus test is simple. If you have black X, you must be willing to have white X. If you aren't then the program is illegal. My rights were clearly violated.

You don't want to hear it, but Black Americans have not been treated well in America. We denied them, for well over 150 years of their basic human rights, we refused to educate them, we denied them rights to buy land, etc.
We have eliminated opportunities for so long, that many industries are not represented by people of color, these events are designed to give children an opportunity to see themselves represented in career paths that have historically been closed to them.
You don't like this, I guess because you don't want to acknowledge that you have had advantages that people of color haven't. Saying that they have the same opportunities now doesn't make up for the decades of lack of opportunities.
Again, you rights have not been impugned, if you want to go to a class for Black Wall Street, I'm sure that they would welcome you. White Wall Street isn't really a class that needs to be taught, since we've all seen Lilly white Caucasians represented in TV and Movies in Wlap Street our whole lives.

But I read the letter that went out Friday night. It made it very clear that program is illegal

let me ask you a serious question. Do you think an event titled Wall Street day would be have better or worse attendance than a Black Wall Street day? To answer this you need to know the district racial makeup is 30% black 50% white and 20% other.
If the goal is to help as many students as possible, why would we have black Wall Street day knowing it will be less well attended?
It’s of my opinion You are only hurting the students with the race crap. Not as many students will attend a “black Wall Street” event as a more inclusive “Wall Street” event. This is easy provable as I described in a post above.

Black kids aren't going since they know it won't pertain to them, history shows them that those jobs are largely closed off to them.

If an Elementary school had a "Good News Club" that met after school to discuss Christianity, do you expect the school to also have a group for every other religion on Earth?

I agree. But every school in the area has one of these clubs. Which also makes me laugh when Christians in the South try to claim some sort of discrimination.
