Economy

that has been a problem for some time now but i dont disagree..but the real shame is what the Democratic part has leading the way...they have a million candidates and they all suck
That’s because they are all Marxist. The Democrat party no longer exists, it has been high jacked by a bunch of Socialist Progressive looney toons.

At this rate at the end of Trump'S second term we'll be able to retire. Amazing times. An economy unleashed from regulation and taxes.

And a Supreme Court and federal judiciary that is way less activist way into the future.

Edit: It's already paying off...

According to some the economy is in shambles and sucks, and the world is about to end if we do not stop coal, oil, and natural gas production, and also eliminate cows who are polluting the air with methane gas. That side cannot equate oil and natural gas production with e better economy. I understand that the United States is the #1 producer of oil and natural gas now. That should make those on the other side believe that the end of the world is hastened.

I will be the first to say that I do not particularly care for Donald Trump as a person, husband, and father. I did not vote for him. As a matter of fact the last election was among a very few in which I did not vote at all. I though all of the selections on either side were not good. I considered holding my nose a voting for Trump, but chickened out at the end.

Yes, he may be an egotistical narcissist, but he is cleaning the crap out of the toilet. And delivering (the best that he can) on his promises. The fate of the free world may now be on his shoulders, as he not must confront and defeat the fascist/socialists who trying to seize hold of this nation. Should those socialists succeed in taking over it will destroy this great nation as we know it, then the other nations who are fighting the socialist movement such as England, France and Germany would also fall.

So yes, Donald Trump is the reason for the the success in the economy, and if he can continue to fight off the attempted coup, this nation and economy will continue to get better and grow.

Curious as to your thoughts on today's news about the revised GDP growth rate for 2018. After looking at more complete data, 2018 GDP growth rate was revised from 2.97% to 2.5%, worse than 2.8% in 2017. I would argue that those tax cuts are not having the desired effect. It looks like business investment actually fell.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...-feat-in-2018-undone-by-annual-data-revisions

President Donald Trump failed to achieve his much-ballyhooed 3% target for economic growth in 2018 after all.

Updated government figures show that gross domestic product expanded 2.5% on a fourth-quarter-over-fourth-quarter basis last year. That compares with a previous estimate of 3% and an upwardly revised 2.8% in 2017, the first year of Trump’s presidency.

Behind the 2018 markdown: Slower growth of business investment and exports, along with a greater output in the fourth quarter of 2017 that made the comparison less favorable.
Unemployment is virtually -0-.....home prices in the upstate lakes region are skyrocketing....our stock investments keep reaching new highs. If the economy gets any better I'm going to have to train german shepherds to operate our loaders and trucks in both Carolina's. I'm with you though OP, it was waaay better during the Obama years.

If I remember correctly that is the same thing everybody was saying in 2007. Good times. Wheee.....
That’s why you keep it in and keep
Investing. When the market is down, you’re able to buy more shares with the same amount of money. When it’s up, that’s obviously good to.

Never say anything negative about "He Who Shall Never Have Anything Negative Said About Him." We're talking about a man who could shoot someone dead on the streets of New York and his followers would not change their minds about him.
You don’t think Hilary was even more arrogant?
But with shitty results.
The Democrats are disgusting political creatures now. Same for the country club Republican ass holes. Trumps arrogant but he delivers results and hates the fuking political class deep state ass holes. Who’ve been fleecing our country.

Ahh...I remember when a president not accepting their term limits was a giant conspiracy theory of the far right about Obama. Now it seems to be what the base wants bc...hypocrites.

All Hail the Bone Spur in Chief!

(I also remember when Republicans claimed (falsely) that tax cuts for the rich would pay for themselves only to have the middle class pay more in taxes. Fun stuff. Winning with the BEST people!)
Umm pretty sure he was joking. If you are a Democrat, I'm pretty sure you dont even know what hypocrisy is. The left is literally one huge contradiction of itself.

My stock portfolio has made more under Donald Trump than any other President besides Bill Clinton.

The midwest is going to put Donald Trump back in office while you dumb as **** left wingers cry cry cry.

This is why I am an independent.

The Right used to actually stand for something back when the moral majority rose to power by wanting to restore morality. Then we found out a bunch of them were crooked con men just trying to profit off of combining religion and free markets/prosperity gospel stuff.

But there were still some that stood for principles and voters who wanted it until Trump came along and grabbed them by the collective junk. Nothing in this WH but enriching and enlarging special interest and the corporate swamp, constant profiting himself off of taxpayer money, nepotism, narcism, being buddy, buddy with dictators, vetoing the reduction of arm sales to Saudis that are killing children in Yemen, and any number of morally dubious or downright illegal activities during his presidency.

If Trump did something good I would acknowledge it, just like I did for Obama when he took Bush era spending and tax cuts with the largest economic crisis in our nation's history and in a couple of years turned it around (although he shouldn't have let Republicans not allow strings to be attached to bankers bailouts). Credit where it is due.

This president gambled that economic prosperity with tariffs (what free market Republicans used to call everything from treasonous and unamerican) that have resulted in hundreds of millions in taxpayer funded bailouts to farmers and a potential bubble on the horizon from THE biggest deficit spending in our nation's history (to which teaparty repubs and fiscal conservatives don't say a peep) and tax cuts that have enriched the rich (short term fuel with potentially disastrous long term impacts just like Bush tax cuts and Reagan era tax cuts).

So, yeah...hypocrisy is rampant amongst Forever Trumpers.

The tax cut was a corporate and donor-class cash grab. There was hope the bit they gave to the middle class would provide enough kick but it didn't.

If you have any intention of stimulating investment and hiring, you target cuts to that end, you don't just give companies piles of cash and hope they do the right thing.

You also help companies make those "right" decisions by giving most of the cuts to the middle and bottom folks who are known to spend whatever they get. Businesses only ever expand in reaction to demand. This was the equivalent of giving Ford a slug of cash and hoping they'd build more Edsels. Giving money to those who will spend it creates demand. Giving extra money to those at the top just adds to their piles and the country's deficits.

Bottom line here is that if a person has accumulated a billion dollars under the old tax plan, then the old tax plan was working just fine for him and no extra help was needed.

Corp tax cuts were necessary to stay competitive with other trading nations.

Common sense.

Democrats hate low corporate rates because they want leverage on corporations so they can deal breaks. This is the root of cronyism.

they were anticipating working with the house of representatives

unfortunately the house hasnt been very cooperative. they seem to be focused on a different agenda. taxpayers' pocketbooks dont seem too important to them right now.

if you give a business man money, he is either going to invest it in the markets, which gives companies capital to expand by hiring more employees, modernizing his business equipment and tools, or spend it on himself or his family.

if you give money to a blue collar worker, they most likely will spend it on their family by buying goods produced by businesses, paying off late bills, catching up medical payments.

if you give illegal immigrants money, theyare gonna spend on transport, shelter, food if they havent already gotten food stamps.

tax cuts are awesome for everyone!

Recessions are cyclical.
We will have another recession at some point (hopefully after Trump gets re elected).
One limiting factor in the economy now is that effective unemployment rate is essentially zero. There are more jobs than people to fill them. We are labor limited for probably the first time in my life.

Trump needs to get the Republicans (and a few House Dems) to cut real government spending. Both parties spend money like drunken sailors.

first cut could be to abolish the house of representatives. that would save a ton right there. just let the white house and senate originate bills.

2 senators from each state is enough. the other 435 is just noise. been that way for decades.

The problem with illegals (other than than that they are here illegally) is that due to Democrats placing the quest for power above what is good for the country, they consume a lot of "free" goods and services paid for by taxpaying US Citizens that should never be paying for them in the first place.

Also, a lot of that earned $$ gets wired back across the border so it doesn't stay here. Money from illegals in the US is a significant economic driver in Mexico. We could shut that off, just like we could shut off the border, but hey,the Democrats need the votes... and there aren't enough dead people to fix elections any more.

When you have 1 of 2 parties pushing hardcore Socialism, your country is in the shitter. Intelligent people see what Socialism has done throughout world history.....shattered the foundation of freedom. I personally don't require a Politico to take what I worked my ass off for for over 45 years and "spread the wealth".

If you have a family history of sponging off the taxpayers for more than half a generation, you need to be working for the taxpayers doing something that helps those that can't help themselves. We have families in the 4th generation of believing they're entitled. I ask entitled to what? Fvcking women with lazy ass men not hitting a lick at a snake that are baby factories. If any of you agree that this shit doesn't need to stop you're part of the problem. Welfare and social handout programs were meant to be temporary...not GD generational.

The last man in office pushed welfare. The Left like having instant votes from persons "on the taxpayer payroll". It's wrong. Period. Start something along the lines of the CCC. Otherwise, there will come a day of reckoning for all taxpayers. JMO, but if you don't work and pay taxes, you don't vote. And welcoming immigrants that cannot pay there own way makes zero sense....unless you're the Left wanting to create more instant votes. SMGDFH at people that think I'm a bad person for pushing the work ethic.

According to a 2016 report by the Institute of Taxation and Economic Policy, 11 million illegal immigrants pay a total of $11.64 billion in state and local taxes annually (an estimated 8% of their income). So about $1,000 each for every man, woman, and child.

The question is: are they paying in more than they are taking out.

My only complaint with the tax cuts is that from my seat most companies aren’t using it on capital goods and services. Only a 5% increase in expenditures so far.
Take a look at companies balance sheets. They are looking really good and holding onto cash. Solid tariff agreements need to be made so that companies know what their budget is for new projects. Trump probably should have waited a little longer to start up the trade war, due to it putting the breaks on capital expenditures.

The shame of what has happened to our country is a total unwillingness to compromise.
I agree and think that many people take it even further and push for more radical legislation than they believe in. People present ideas with the hope that after some negotiating they will land somewhere within their viewpoint. So many proposals from the far left and far right that obviously will not work.

How much do you think they take out? A RAND study says the total federal cost of providing healthcare to illegal immigrants without insurance is $1.1 billion.

Just looking at education

The average cost per student in the USA is 11,300 per year. There are an estimated 3.9 million children of illegal immigrants in the USA.

How do you give cuts to the “bottom” folks? They don’t really pay anything as it is.

Why use billionaire as an example? There are tons of hardworking normal people who benefit from the tax cuts.

I would actually be okay adding another tax rate at the top end. Make it 40% just to stop this business about a tax cut for billionaires.

No way. Not when you have to figure in all the social services that they consume.

So blue collar workers are late paying their bills and medical expenses?

thats what ive been hearing from blue collar workers interviewed by members of the media.

but could have been planted by the clinton administration tho.

i seriously dont understand why americans are not up in arms about the origins of the mueller report.

unbelievable.

I honestly don’t think I could name one App? Are there any in Washington anymore?

man i have no idea. democrats, republicans, and independents are lost in the wilderness.

the extremes of both party are running the show thru the so called news outlets.

need to find out who these big donors are behind the scenes and remove them from pulling the strings on our elected numb nuts.

how they could continue with impeachment after reading the report and having a hearing

and the worst part knowing how this whole thing got started.

i would be embarassed. i cant believe the ignorance of the electorate.

the russians were not the enemy of our election process. they meddled for sure.

but the clinton campaign. oh my god. her team under extreme duress due to her destroying very valuable evidence that would have taken her down decides to deflect by planting seeds against trump.

that is so bad and very few care means either most dont understand this or dont care or hate trump so bad that breaking the law is ok.
