Launch was a great success with SpaceX successfully transferring fuel between tanks and earning $40mm.
Also got the added bonus of letting Starship re-enter Earths atmosphere and getting data regarding the heat shield etc.

Totally expected. This is the way SpaceX works with their iterative process. They fly, they crash, they learn, they fly further. Same thing happed with the reusable booster for Falcon 9 ships. They crashed a LOT of those before they got it right. Now the boosters fly themselves back to the launch point and are being refurbished in a couple of days.
In this case, First mission blew up a couple of minutes in and F'd up the whole launch pad as a bonus. Second mission blew up when the Heavy Booster separated (technically the booster blew up then and the ship itself blew up during fuel transfer a few minutes later. Third mission blew up the Heavy booster when they tried to soft land it in the gulf and the Ship blew up (crashed) during reentry.
Forth mission will probably make it down and crash on the landing pad(s). Fifth mission will be successful (at least with the Heavy Booster OR the Ship). Working as intended.
And yes, I was watching it live.
