Also, if that was the case, I can't wait to see him prove it in the court if law. Every love he's made so far has been to recoup some of the money he has laid out for this company. He is laying off staff, not managers, and has already stated that they will charge users $20 a month for verified status. He is delaying any changes to banned statuses until he puts a committee in place to moderate. Basically passing the buck.
Musk couldn't care less about free speech, this is about the almighty dollar.
While I agree his intent will be to make $$$$, I think there will be more equal discrimination of ideas - instead of the entirely lopsided policing of ideas that has been the norm.
Everyone keeps saying this about Twitter being "lopsided" in it's policies towards conservatives, but what is that based on?
I admittedly am not a Twitter user, but the people who have claimed to have been censored by Twitter have seemed to me to be habitual spreaders of conspiracy and falsehoods. They ignore warnings and keep doing it until banned. I just have a hard time feeling that they were wronged.
When the freaking President keeps knowingly lying and spreading untruths in spite if repeated warnings, I just don't blame Twitter for banning him.
I haven't seen any issues of people who were banned who didn't have warnings. What an I missing? The studies I've read show that Twitter has banned more conservatives, but conservatives are sharing more misinformation. This tracks since other studies have shown that conservatives have far more use misinformation sites than liberals.

If true that he fired them "For cause" to avoid paying them he is going to have a very hard time proving that. Particularly given the circumstances of a takeover

I'd be willing to bet the # of tweets calling the laptop a lie and trump/russia collusion a fact far outweigh all conservative "misinformation" tweets banned. How many lies has Biden told in tweets? It is almost daily at this point. Lies about taxing corporations, lies about gas prices, lies about inflation. Have not seen any of them taken down when they are demonstrably false.
I don't care what your policy is, but it is clearly not being applied the same way.
