The team is practicing at Jervey Meadows and boy is it freaking hot and humid.

The media were granted some time to watch the early portion of practice, and there were some notable sights. Let's get to them:

-- There's been no announcement on the two injured guys Dabo Swinney mentioned a couple days ago without naming names, saying one had a shoulder injury and the other had a hematoma (deep bruise) that needed to be drained.

We told you initially that our information pointed to two receivers. Today, Beaux Collins was in street clothes and E.J. Williams was dressed out, but in yellow and moving gingerly.

It doesn't take advanced powers of deduction to conclude that Collins suffered the shoulder injury and Williams had the bruise.

Williams, by the way, made a splash earlier this week when Clemson released a video of him fighting through Nate Wiggins to catch a deep ball, rising high and then landing on his back. Given that Swinney pointed to his lower back when describing the hematoma, you wonder if this play was where Williams suffered the injury.

-- Another injury today: Offensive lineman John Williams was out with an ice pack over his left knee. Judging from his mannerisms, it didn't look encouraging.

You'll recall that Williams suffered a torn ACL a year ago. Not sure whether it was in his right or left leg.

If this is serious, you really feel for the guy. He'd battled long and hard to get back.

-- After several good days in a row from the punting, today was back to inconsistency. One punt hit an offensive lineman in the back of the helmet.

Punt returners of note were Will Shipley, Will Taylor and Antonio Williams. Taylor dropped one.

-- Troy Stellato gets a lot of grief here for his inability to stay healthy, but he looked pretty good to me today.

-- Sheridan Jones was not present at today's practice. He's graduating, and congrats to him for that major accomplishment.

-- The oppressive heat and humidity made today feel like full-on camp after the team made its customary trip to Lake Keowee yesterday. The receivers drew the lengthy ire of Swinney for what looked to be a casual approach going through a drill.

-- File this away: Artavis Scott is going to be a successful position coach one day. The way he carries himself with these receivers, and the knowledge he dispenses, really stands out. He was a craftsman and a supreme competitor as a player, and that seems to carry over into his duties assisting Tyler Grisham.

That's it for now. We'll be back out there after practice to chat with some players and will relay anything that's newsworthy or notable. Also, we'll have more from camp late this afternoon.
