Imagine viewing scientific American as a partisan outlet. Holy shit.
Guy sees a story from an outlet he doesn't know that contradicts his worldview. Didn't read the story, didn't look into the outlet, but is damn sure that, since they published an article he thinks is nonsense (of course, without any scientific knowledge of his own), the magazine must be run by "the left". Absolutely insane.
What 3 or 4 appliances are the biggest drivers for natural gas lines into a home? Stove, Dryer, Hot Water heater, furnace.......are they going to start putting restrictions on the others also?
That article is all over the place, quotes "decades of material research" but only cites "the last 10 years" as being valid/relevant.
"Most of the studies on the health effects of cooking gas have been observational because it would obviously be unethical to intentionally expose children to environmental risks, says
Ulrike Gehring, an associate professor at the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and a co-author of the 2013 meta-analysis. Still, some past studies have measured NO2 concentrations in various indoor settings and have shown that people with asthma have more severe symptoms when they’re exposed to higher levels of the gas. Although observational studies cannot prove that cooking with gas causes asthma,Gehring says, accounting for other risk factors such as parental asthma and secondhand tobacco smoke “increases our confidence” that it does."
Says above they can't prove that gas stoves cause asthma.
This is an effort to remove the need for all natural gas being fed into homes, you just have to go and read about all of the 5013c's out there with those intentions who cite the same studies, same arguments, blah blah blah. They want to end LNG, fracking, etc
