Mark Milley
According to the book “Peril” written by Bob Woodward, General Mark Milley, the Joint Chiefs chairman, told China in a secret phone call that he would give advance warning if the US was ever going to attack.
“In a pair of secret phone calls (Oct. 20 and Jan. 8), Gen. Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, assured his Chinese counterpart, Gen. Li Zuocheng of the PLA, that the U.S. would not strike, according to the new book written by Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward and national political editor Robert Costa.
On January 8, 2021, the same day Milley reportedly spoke to China in a secret phone call, CNN ran a story claiming Pelosi had gotten assurances from Milley there are safeguards in place in the event President Trump wanted to launch a nuclear weapon.
According to Fox News, 15 people were present when Milley called China on teleconference in October 2020, which was coordinated with then-Defense Secretary Mark Esper’s office (Trump eventually fired Esper).

Milley released a statement through a spokesman that confirmed the reporting in the book Peril by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa that stated Milley had two conversations with his counterpart in the Chinese military that undermined President Trump.
Christopher Miller, Trump’s Acting Secretary of Defense from the 2020 election through Inauguration Day, called Milley’s phone calls an “unprecedented act of insubordination” in a statement to Fox News.
On Monday, Robert Costa reported that Milley told Speaker Pelosi that he agreed that Trump was crazy and he reassured the Speaker that the nuclear codes were safe.
It was the final coup against Trump involving the DOJ, FBI, US Military, Pelosi, and Democrats.
An extraordinary moment in American history. A speaker of the House asks the chairman of the joint chiefs if the nuclear codes are safe because she fears the president is crazy and liable to make a deadly decision to stay in power.

Just months later, General Mark Milley surrendered to the Taliban and armed the terrorist group with $80 billion in US weapons and supplies.

Why does this man still hold a position in government?

Why is this man still leading the US military?
Why is this man not in prison today?
More evidence that Washington is completely broken. Does anyone in their right mind think Kevin McCarthy is going to take this on?

Sorry, but an unprecedented lunatic calls for unprecedented measures.

By Jeff McCausland, retired Army colonel and former member of the National Security Council(selected quotes)

"Milley has argued that these calls were “perfectly within the duties and responsibilities” of his job. And indeed, it is routine for U.S. government officials to speak with their counterparts — allies as well as potential adversaries — on a regular basis. I can personally testify to this based on my own experience working in the White House during a crisis."

"Milley’s aides have maintained that such contact is invaluable during a presidential transition. At such moments (even if they occur peacefully), leaders around the world are concerned about instability and the possibility that any crisis might rapidly escalate. And to be fair, these calls occurred at time when tensions between the U.S. and China were rising over military exercises in the South China Sea, as well as Trump’s belligerent rhetoric toward Beijing. Milley subsequently contacted the commander of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and recommended postponing impending military exercises in the eastern Pacific."

“Peril” also includes new details from a previously reported conversation between Milley and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., in January. Pelosi, who questioned the chairman about any safeguards that might prevent Trump from initiating a nuclear attack, described the president as “crazy" — an assessment Milley reportedly agreed with. Pelosi is not the only one who shared Milley’s concerns. So, apparently, was CIA Director Gina Haspel. Indeed, many former members of the Trump leadership team have spoken out about his poor leadership and character over the past several years. Former Defense Secretary James Mattis warned that under Trump the nation lacked “mature leadership”;former White House chief of staff John Kelly agreed."

"Milley’s immediate concerns about Trump’s mental stability and impulsiveness were further exacerbated by the firing of Defense Secretary Mark Esper and several other senior Pentagon officials in November. (They were replaced by Trump loyalists who were both unconfirmed and likely unconfirmable.) After the election, Milley held a secret meeting of the country’s senior military leaders in the Pentagon. Milley reminded them to follow specific procedures and to ensure that nuclear launch control officers checked with him first if an order were ever issued. This is both startling and terrifying. It may also reveal a flawed system."

"The West Point motto of “Duty, Honor, Country” has been adopted over the years by many in the U.S. officer corps. Milley’s actions were possibly unprecedented. Some find them controversial and even traitorous. Still, his actions appear honorable. He was not motivated by personal gain. He performed his assigned duties as the country’s most senior military officer at a critical moment, and his actions were designed to protect the country, and the world, from a possible catastrophe."

Treasons cool as long as it fits my narrative

If that's treason, it was warranted since we had a socipath for a President who put himself before country. It's understandable that Milley put Country before Trump after witnessing that unhinged imbecile try to overturn a free and fair election with no proof of wrongdoing. Glad there was a sane authority willing to risk his job to make sure he didn't make a calamitous decision that could have had disastrous consequences for all Americans.
