despite the democrats' penchant for screwing up easily winnable elections, they could literally trot out a scarecrow for nomination in 2020 and beat trump.

We live in an unequal world... we are born different, experience life differently, we have inherent advantages and disadvantages. To put it simply we are not equals because we are unique.

I abhor the statements that white have advantages because there is no universal. Ever heard the term trailer trash?

The fact is that the affluent and two parent families have advantages, just as those from educated families. That has always been the case. The sad part is we don't get to pick that at birth, just like we do not get to pick our race.

The real question is what will you do with your path and as a society how do we eliminate those differences that have been allowed to be built into our systems, especially the education and justice systems.
I agree that EDUCATION is the place to start. How do we comingle schools at an early age to give every kid a chance? If it was easy, we would have done it by now.

Good post. I think the argument around systemic racism would involve our criminal justice system that has created many single parent homes in black neighborhoods. I’m conflicted on the sentences for selling crack vs cocaine and how that has created so many single parent homes in black neighborhoods. As well as the awful public schools in those neighborhoods. I can see both sides of the argument, so it’s one I struggle to feel conviction with.

Crack head who gets caught with a rock goes to prison. Bank that knowingly launders $800 million for a drug cartel sees no one go to prison.

Yet the crackhead is the reason for the drug problem right?

People like Pop running his hyperbole filled suck hole are doing the same thing g they say they despise Trump for, creating divisiveness. Yes, there are racist idiots out there, but this has evolved into a socioeconomic issue and the race baiters are Too stupid to recognize it.

My mom is first generation Native American, but I look more white than anything. If I walk into a restaurant at the same time as any rich black person WTF do you think they will serve first? Black people do more time in jail for the same crimes because of socioeconomic reasons, not the color of their skin. No matter what color you are, if you can afford to hire top notch legal representation, then you are going to do less time.

This argument is so stupid mainly because everything listed above will be construed by the race baiters as racist simply because it doesn’t fit the victim narrative. Morons like Pop give a crutch to everyone scouring the earth for reasons to claim victim hood.

Well, yeah, somebody who buys drugs is the reason for the drug problem. I'm not sure what bank you're referring to laundering money for a drug cartel and having nobody charged with a crime, but drug cartels and banks laundering money for them only exist because there's a market for drugs.

But shouldn't we also wonder why it is that so many black kids are born out of wedlock, and then why they're not raised by two married parents? Nobody thinks it's just by virtue of them being black, unless they're really racist.

Oh I couldn’t agree more that we need prison reform, I’m just conflicted on whether this is defined as “systemic racism”.

I'm guessing you thought Hillary would win too? Because if dems are truly dumb enough to put up Warren, it will be a beat down

i doubt warren will be the nominee.

but if she were, i think she, just like about every other potential nominee, would stand an excellent chance of beating trump. he's that poisonous.

Interesting take. So the drug problem in it’s entirety is at the user level? Is that your belief?

What you need is somebody who can either claim to be an outsider, or who has some sort of inspirational and charismatic quality. Doesn't really matter what their politics are.

Listened to a great podcast by Malcolm Gladwell who proposed that Brown vs Board of education had the unintended consequence of reducing the number of black teachers. The reduction in role models along with the "stereotyping of black students" by white teachers ( that was the 50's) under "integration" set us backwards in some ways. It is an incredible listen.

It only reinforced my belief in and support for Clemson's Call Me Mister program. Role Models are extremely powerful for young kids but so are adequate resources.

No, but it's fairly obvious that the drug problem is due to drug use. Not that people will ever stop using, but it wouldn't exist if not for use. The rest of the drug complex enables users, which is why a major part of drug-law enforcement and preventing drug use is to go after the enablers (dealers, money launderers, etc.).

Here's a question: has anybody who was part of the white-collar part of the drug operation been put in jail? Have any drug users ever not been fined or not punished for their drug use?

I agree that drug users are a big portion of the problem, but again, cocaine exploded into America when it was introduced by people wanting to make a profit.

If we all as Americans got together and collectively ate healthier, exercised more, relied less on prescription drugs etc, do you honestly think big pharma, the food industry and the powers that be would sitting idlely by and lose profits? For someone like yourself who is intelligent it’s easy for you as the consumer to have the ability to make the right choice, but it’s those less fortunate or less informed that may not be able to make that decision for themselves. That, or they may live in a culture where they see no other options.

I know I got off track, it just seems to me that far to often the blame is placed on the person at the bottom of the totem poll and not at the top, when both contribute to the issue.

Hmm... Sounds familiar... Like it's gonna be 2016 all over again or something...

the overwhelming number of instances of him saying or doing something racist would suggest otherwise. but even if you want to deny his clear racism, you still voted for an idiot conman to be president. so good job i guess?

This crap has OPINION written at the top of the page thank goodness as thats what it is. FAKE NEWS! Trump is not a racist. This is just another identity politic race baiting charge by the left. Lowest african american unemployment levels in recorded american history under this president.
