The only plan I’ve seen articulated is to lower energy prices, which would matriculate through grocery prices. But as I mentioned earlier in the thread, some of the policies - many of which I agree with - seem like they would push prices higher.

For example, I would gladly pay higher grocery prices if we can eliminate some of the bullshit in our food supply. The long-term effect on population health and resulting medical cost reduction would more than offset the higher prices.

But too many people and shortsighted and stupid, so…

This does touch on a very basic concept that shouldn’t be controversial at all - nobody should be receiving anything from the government unless they work 40 hours per week at a real job. Exceptions for mentally and physically handicapped, elderly, kids and in some cases single moms (though dad should be hunted down and forced to pay, followed by wage garnishment until he has paid back the government).

I doubt it’s federal workers, but there are scores of deadbeats that we can put to work doing something.

DOGE should comb the government assistance rolls and purge the capable noncontributors.

You are allowed back if you are laying out a plan for lowering grocery prices. This can include debunking plan's and citing reasons why, if you need to. But at the end of your statement, there should be a clear line with the plan, you propose, and how it will factually lower the price of goods.
It can be argued from any vantage point, even by saying, for example, that you won't lower grocery prices, you will increase wages. Which when adjusted for inflation, yadda yadda yadda, will effectively lower the cost of goods for the average consumer.

It’s the same reason he’s so hard after expanding the H1B visa program: he can pay skilled immigrant labor less than American engineers are working for. It’s good for his bottom line and bad for American workers.
