Grocery cost question

Wow. So after trying to wade through that wall of estrogen injected screeching, I think this ignorant little child is saying that...

when I posted, "And yet, a month from now we'll hear "why hasn't trump fixed egg prices yet"", what I apparently really meant was that I "agreed with the post that the other guy posted and believe he (the other poster?, Biden?) did it (posted?, killed chickens?) intentionally so you (me?) couldn't proclaim Trump gave us cheaper eggs a month from now".

Now, can someone who can speak "dumbass", either interpret what this waste of Atlanta area air is talking about? If it helps, the meaning of my comment is, a month from now, this stupid 2 digit IQ twatwaffle will be asking "Why hasn't Trump fixed egg prices yet" . I wasn't making any statement about Biden. I was making a statement about the douche nozzle who is yapping incoherently.

All of you who are sharing this dickpics account really need to get this little mentally ill moron back on his lithium. His interpretations of posts are monumentally stupid, imagined, over-the-top delusions from an off his meds, manic depressive. This is why most people just trade dm comments laughing at the damn fool. There's no point in debating someone who is always confused about practically everything.
Now why would I think you had a sane take after you've liked a thousand low IQ propaganda twats from the 2-3 relentless spam-bots on this board? 😅 And I'm sure it's those same yokels that you talk to in your DMs, so besides the hilarious picture I'm getting of you having roundtables with those stooges, I'm totally flattered that y'all give me so much attention - it makes me feel special. 😅

I can feel the heat in Pickens from your ears all the way here in Atlanta LOL

guys, timeout.
In this thread, we are discussing the PLAN TO LOWER GROCERY PRICES. Inflation was the number one issue listed in exit polling. The lower middle class elected this administration to lower prices. Food is obviously probably number one. This is a unifying issue that we should all TRY to make progress on.

Remember the first 2 months of an administration are supposed to be the honeymoon era.

So please, can someone just post some plan, any plan that the current administration has to lower these grocery prices?

I hear ya man and I really do try to keep my posts within the bounds of your subject matter but sometimes you just have to take it outside so it doesn't get derailed haha, unfortunately it did the opposite. But I'm with you because I too want to know the answer ;-)

A sane take? The sentence was very short and self-explanatory. You're being a loon. Pickens? If you think you know who I am, dox me now.

I'm an outcome based guy. I really don't care how the sausage is made, how we get there. But as the OP, I will step in from time to time to help guide us all there to what this threads stated mission is: Retrieve the current administrations plan to lower grocery prices.

I leave my ego at the home page when I entered this thread. We need collaboration, we need all ideas. Because, I simply cannot find this ****ing plan.

Ladies and gentlemen,
I'm starting to get worried

Please someone? anyone?
Instead of worry about the economist, who have been dead wrong (inflation is temporary), you should just sit back and watch the lesson.

Government spending is inflationary. Trump and DOGE are going to cut government spending. This will be anti-inflationary and bring inflation down, including the price of groceries.

The only plan I’ve seen articulated is to lower energy prices, which would matriculate through grocery prices. But as I mentioned earlier in the thread, some of the policies - many of which I agree with - seem like they would push prices higher.

For example, I would gladly pay higher grocery prices if we can eliminate some of the bullshit in our food supply. The long-term effect on population health and resulting medical cost reduction would more than offset the higher prices.

But too many people and shortsighted and stupid, so…

Energy prices lowering would really only benefit the capital owners, I can't see how it would benefit the laborer.
The laborer elected the current administration with a mandate to lower prices. Oh well not happening. The rich are happy, because they have capital to invest and lower energy prices will boost their company shares. More stock buy backs, more centralization of wealth.
No plan for the common man. Who if I recall correctly, we need to build the infrastructure to compete with China.

Sure would be nice to see a plan that makes sense.

What was Kamala’s plan?

Seriously though, the thought process is lower energy prices affect food costs due to shipping costs and other factors. I doubt it makes much of a difference, but who knows.

Is there like an actual plan written down somewhere? Or is this just good vibes kind of approach?

Yeah, I truly believe both Dems and Republicans just want their own versions of quasi-socialism. Liberals tend to support more traditional wealth redistribution, conservatives seem to support some executive control over private industry…which is a very specific type of socialism that starts with an F.
You’re such an idiot. It never ceases to amaze me how stupid you liberals are.

The energy cost thing been repeated over and over. Sure you can find some links.

The video just above this post mentions cage free requirements being passed in CA and MI that increased the cost of eggs. I’m sure someone could reverse regulations like that that to lower costs, but frankly we need improvement in that area. We only buy organic, pasture raised eggs. The yolks are a totally different color than the mass produced eggs and better for you.

Anyways, I’m not your cost cutting guy. I’m willing to pay more if we improve the quality of our food supply.

Just so we are clear, this isn't a Democrat as republican issue. The voters of the current administration voted for him to lower prices. It's in the exit polling. This seems to be some kind of either misunderstanding or perhaps what we call manufactured consent by the media here.

They present the issue as if only Democrats care about prices. Yet it was the top issue on exit polling for Trump voters.

Are we really going to allow news media to dupe us this way?

OK that's nice. But clearly if you are in the 1% your circumstances and motivations are different than the majority.
Do you expect those that do care about this issue to just drop it? Do you think the administration will be successful not doing what it stated as a goal?

Do you only consider yourself when it comes to national and international politics?
How are energy prices going to be lower if we tariffs Canada? Seems like I haven't seen much in the ways of plans yet.

"
Recent economic research from the likes of Ben Bernanke, the former Federal Reserve chairman, has found that spiking prices in 2021 and 2022 stemmed from factors such as supply-chain disruptions and increased commodity prices — forces that any president, including Mr. Trump, would struggle to control.

The Trump administration didn't immediately return a request for comment."

It just feels like, there really is no plan.

How will energy costs make a difference if there are few people to harvest the crops and we place 25% tariffs on Mexico where roughly two-thirds of our fresh vegetables and around half of our fresh fruit come from?

Also, do you think oil companies will be interested in lowering energy costs? Do you think Trump's orders to halt all renewable energy projects will help them go down?

From all appearances, he is doing the exact opposite of what you would do if you wanted grocery prices to go down. Perplexed

I’ve been pretty clear that I think many of the policies seem to put upward pressure on prices.

And what would Kamala’s plan have been? More inflationary big government spending?

We will see how the various policies impact prices over the next year. Voters will have a chance to weigh in again in 22 months.
