Interested for the board's thoughts on this. Saw it posted over on the CFB subreddit and the vitriol towards Dabo was palpable.

Why is that? I’m sure he traveled with just his family. That’s like saying we should quarantine ourselves for 14 days every time we go to the grocery store or someone goes to work. How is it any different?

While i agree with the fact that due to the way he traveled he had no or minimal effect on corona spread, the optics are not the greatest especially when you casually mention it during a press conference. Especially after you made the already controversial statement of thinking everything will be fine come the fall. He may be right or wrong on that second take, but with the amount of sports content we currently have to consume anything put out there will be highly scrutinized.

I only came to this post looking for big government republicans excusing their views to forgive Dabo. You haven’t disappointed.

I don’t agree with the government preventing people from doing what they want to do. Republicans have shown they agree with massive government overreach and increased laws to keep people safe when it comes to a viral crisis. What reasoning do you not hold Dabo to the same laws normal people have to follow?

It’s important to explain you can’t agree with the government and Dabo. If it’s worth anything I have no issue with Dabo exercising his personal freedoms this country was founded on.

I wore my country's uniform for 28+ years as a USAF pilot. Sometimes America is wrong but she's still the most capable and best postured country on the planet. Truly the shining city on the hill. We'll be fine.

Those that have fought for our rights tend to be damned reluctant to give up one inch of freedom. I don't disagree with you on many things. But why make everything a fist fight? Not just you but many on here.

I've been on this site since Bowden's first year. The separation, filth, and hate for our fellow tigers is more than palpable and seems to be getting worse. Again let's stop looking through the lens of difference and try common ground and respect as the basis for our discussions?

I don’t love the optics of it, but he can do what he wants. Would have loved for him to divert some of his funds to lead an effort for the local Clemson community members impacted vs taking his private jet to his second home. He’s the most highly paid member of the Clemson community, but I also understand he’s probably done more for the community than anyone too

The only advice I would give people right now is to stay out of the news unless you are doing pro bono charity work fighting COVID.

We got asked to do a story on the economic side of COVID and turned it down because the news cycle is too fast. You could make comments that are perfectly normal at the time, but by the time the interviews airs that you regret.
