Haven't seen this mentioned...Dabo travels to FL

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nc...vacation-during-covid-19-pandemic/ar-BB12c9lO

Interested for the board's thoughts on this. Saw it posted over on the CFB subreddit and the vitriol towards Dabo was palpable.
Dabo has quickly gone from the lovable underdog to one of the most hated and controversial figures in college football

Exactly WHY should it be mentioned? I'm curious. About as curious as to why anyone with a positive outlook on life should be condemned by others. We live in a VERY screwed up world.

You might want to move from America. The government is telling homeowners that they can’t collect rent.

I hope all y’all big gov republicans remember how willingly y’all bent the knee to government during this crisis. #treadonme[/QUOTE

I thought that you had dropped out of the race Bernie. If you are back in give me some free $shit please!!!

have you avoided the news the last couple weeks? Unemployment benefits now pay 24 dollars an hour. Landlords aren’t allowed to collect rent. Student loans should be forgiven with stimulus bill number 4. Stimulus checks are in the mail....

I agree with most everyone's take on this. Just saw the article and wanted to have a discussion about it. I wouldn't trade our head coach for anyone else, but hate seeing him torn apart in the media and in other forums.

Well I guess since SC doesn’t have a stay in place order, he is allowed to do this. However, it likely means he should now stay in place for 14 days at the Florida home. It would be an error in judgment if he were to spend only a couple of days there and then return to his Clemson home.

Could you explain your reasoning for those of us who were too dumb to attend UCLA?

This guy. Just brutal all the time. Thinks he is the smartest person in the room all the time.
Assuming @kgwillison is just trolling, but who knows these days...

But, it truly is sad how the "media" writes sensational articles losing the respect for most of the general public. These media hacks are what got Trump elected. And it's why so much of your general public dismissed the Coronavirus.

I deal (or dealt with) the general public everyday in my field, and I can't tell you how many people felt like the media was overkilling this virus, etc. It's like the boy who cried wolf. It's unfortunate.

This thread is about if Dabo was wrong traveling against governances recommendations. I typically don’t align with the government and got hated on by most of y’all for my consistent views. It’s important to explain you can’t agree with the government and Dabo. If it’s worth anything I have no issue with Dabo exercising his personal freedoms this country was founded on.

Would you like to discuss recruiting instead?

At some point there is gonna be hard data on if issuing stay at home orders and locking things down saved lives. Early on is does appear that California kept from needing a lot of extra ventilators (and Oregon and Wa State did too) by issuing restrictive orders before everyone else. However I dont think there is enough data to say for certain yet. My understanding is that Cali shut down a week before New York in earnest. I need to check that though for sure.

My question to you is will you be willing to admit you were wrong if the data shows that states and cities and countries who shut things down faster saved lives and illness rates as opposed to the states , cities and countries that did not. ? A great beta test is gonna be Sweden vs all of Europe in this debate IMO but we will have plenty of data here as well (say Fl vs Cali, etc).

Must admit, that was a good comeback, lol...

Wtf is the media to judge anyone what they do with thier family? He has a home in fla and it was just him and his family maybe they should focus on calling out kemp for reopening the beaches in ga or focus on that idiot that governs our state and no shelter in place while its rapidly spreading in sc. Instead they wanna focus on what dabo does!

If I was a multi multi-millionaire like our coach, I'd be jetting my ass all over the country too. Some of y'all need to calm down

Oh he isn’t trolling. I remember back when the Fannie Freddie bailout happened he was dropping his vast knowledge and hottest of hot takes on us dumb rednecks then as well.

I will 100% admit a shutdown was needed if the data shows this. After it’s all done we should have a few different examples to measure the results of and see what the best approach would have been.

So far it seems the biggest preventative measure would have been the CDC telling everyone to wear any and all types of mask. They decided that wasn’t important until most areas had tons of cases. The Asians countries seem to support mask being very beneficial in reducing the spread.

btw I haven’t been going around trying spread anything. I hate touching people and hate them touching me. I live social distancing 24/7 lol.

Ironically, he’s so pseudo-intellectual that’s he’s actually stupid.

I’ve met with a bunch of elite Californians on this matter. Here’s our response:

We cahnt beleave this is nuuus.

Guarantee there are 500,000 other like stories.

Those of you saying he didn't put anybody else at risk, did he fly the plane himself? Did he fuel it himself? Clean the plane himself?

I know he says he took "all the precautions" but it's just not a good look. It feels entitled.

it feels entitled? I guess since you don’t have the ability to do it may as well call it entitled.

After additional research, I notice that Florida's 14-day quarantine applies (right now) only to travelers from NY, NJ and Conn. If you go to the Sunshine State from those places, you have to remain in your Florida location for 14 days. SC is not yet on that list.

I want to see the reaction if Muschamp does something similar--would be a good social experiment.

Why is that? I’m sure he traveled with just his family. That’s like saying we should quarantine ourselves for 14 days every time we go to the grocery store or someone goes to work. How is it any different?
You sure about that......

Thanks for letting us all know. Hopefully someone will let Dabo know that he is free to return to Clemson at the time of his choosing.

While i agree with the fact that due to the way he traveled he had no or minimal effect on corona spread, the optics are not the greatest especially when you casually mention it during a press conference. Especially after you made the already controversial statement of thinking everything will be fine come the fall. He may be right or wrong on that second take, but with the amount of sports content we currently have to consume anything put out there will be highly scrutinized.
I am sure he cares about the optics of it about as much as he should...which is zero. Dabo and his family can and should do whatever they want with their houses.

I am planning my family vacation hiking and camping in the Sierra Nevada's in mid-May. I think it fantastic to take a safe family vacation. Practice social distancing and don't live like you are in solitary confinement.

Love it.
Please do.

Just a head's up.

Sierra Nevada is not plural. ; )
Much less possessive.
Sound like you been there. You'll wow 'em!

It's Holy Week.
Dabo is not Holy in whole, for sure. None of us are.

But, it reminds me of One who WAS Perfect and got pretty roughed up during some week that we now remember as Holy Week.

Praise God for it.

Please tell me how the guy, or girl, fueling the plane is at risk? The biggest risk they all took was having a car accident on the way to work. I am sure the people cleaning he plane were wearing PPE, both for their safety and the passengers.
