Hearing hospitals in York and Jasper are at capacity. WOW

York has 288 total beds and Jasper has 41 total beds at their hospital.

I'm not downplaying the rise in hospitalizations but there aren't a lot of critical care beds in those counties to begin with.
I can tell you that the main hospital in York County that has almost all of those beds is at over 30% covid positive per bed.

it is the highest number of cases they have had.

Again, I'm not downplaying the impact Covid is having.

I'm only pointing out that neither of those counties has a lot of beds to begin with.

York County has about 288,000 residents so about 1 bed per 1000.

Spartanburg has about 325,000 residents and over 800 beds.

That is all I'm pointing out.

I'm in Ft Mill which is York County and I don't know one person that has ever went to a hospital in Rock Hill.

But hopefully they can handle the flow of patients that come in..

Most Hospitals run at 80 percent. Anything less than that would be a loss of money.

Stop scaring people about coronavirus.
No acute beds in 4 hospitals in the state. That’s serious. Don’t end up like multiple posters that are now asking for prayers bc they disregarded all cdc recommendations

Y’all be safe down there! This is real.
Yes it is a big deal. My cousin was diagnosed with COVID last week and is still hospitalized at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill (York Co.) He spent the first night there in the ER as they had no available beds. He received is last Remdesivir IV treatment today and hopes to be released in the next couple of days. Stay safe my friends.

It doesn’t. Not near to this extent.
This is simply not true

Here's just one article about it.

My point is not to diminish the onslaught of COVID-19. Nor, certainly not, to diminish the problems that the healthcare system will inevitably have.

But, it is true. Hospitals have been at, or near capacity, from Seasonal Influenza in many, many instances the past few years. This isn't really something that's controversial.

The Hospitals have been preparing for this for almost an entire year.

Prayers sent!

Why tf do y’all continue to lean into this pandemic being political. Op is on the booze. Yes this virus is real. Yes the hospitals are getting a bounce back per case. Yes it is dangerous. No you don’t have to stop living just simply be careful.

Not everyone who's gotten it and now asking for prayer is due to ignoring recommendations. It's possible to be a Christian AND follow guidelines AND still test positive. I would say give a rest, but you're just doing your thing.

I’m speaking to only the ones that have been minimizing the gravity of the global pandemic.

There was a guy with dozens of posts minimizing this global pandemic that was in direct close contact with 7 people that contracted the virus....and still hosted a super spreader event a few days later....and then asked for prayers.

As someone who’s worked in healthcare for 10 years, I can promise you that hospital capacity in the areas you referenced is not indicative of a lack of treatment should you need it.

When you talk about “capacity” it’s extremely important to take into consideration the geography and day to day patient volume.

For example, if capacity in nyc was in danger, you’d be correct in saying we need to take action. That’s because it’s a major metropolitan area and you need to account for an abnormally high number of hospitalizations on a nightly basis.

In talking with physicians, payers, etc. weekly, I can promise you the least of their concerns is running out of space in their hospitals at this stage of the virus. Luckily we live in a country where we have the resources to move patients should it ever reach that point.

Feels like TMB in here. Getting constantly spammed by fake liberal posters to rile up the masses. Someone needs to do something about this clown and his awful schtick.
