Hearing hospitals in York and Jasper are at capacity. WOW

Feels like TMB in here. Getting constantly spammed by fake liberal posters to rile up the masses. Someone needs to do something about this clown and his awful schtick.
Put me on ignore. Jan 20 is days away and the Trump era wil be over. Deal with it.

My sister currently has it along with many friends from Church. They all wore masks too.
All have mild symptoms similar to the flu.
That's great for them. But 360,000 Americans have died from it.

Yes it is a big deal. My cousin was diagnosed with COVID last week and is still hospitalized at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill (York Co.) He spent the first night there in the ER as they had no available beds. He received is last Remdesivir IV treatment today and hopes to be released in the next couple of days. Stay safe my friends.

Hope your cousin ends up OK my friend.

Big problems in the Easley hospital too at last check. A friend of mine who is an administrator there (and who is a TI subscriber) told me last week they had 20 admission holds. Of their 71 patients, 42 were COVID. He said it was like a war zone and my guess is it isn't much better now.

Here's just one article about it.

My point is not to diminish the onslaught of COVID-19. Nor, certainly not, to diminish the problems that the healthcare system will inevitably have.

But, it is true. Hospitals have been at, or near capacity, from Seasonal Influenza in many, many instances the past few years. This isn't really something that's controversial.

The Hospitals have been preparing for this for almost an entire year.

Im going to tell you that the article you posted amongst others isn’t entirely true. That’s coming from one of the highest positions at one of the hospitals mentioned in this thread. This isn’t something that was prepared for. A virus with knowledge that changes weekly if not daily. Having to do CPR on patients when they are prone isn’t what people prepared for. The amount of vents that were needed isn’t what people prepared for. Constant need for PPE because you don’t know if a man and woman beat within an inch of their life comes in for care has it or not. Or a mass trauma of 6 people come in from a car wreck, you don’t know if they have it or not.

Just because hospitals have been at or close to capacity during a flu season isn’t something that prepares you for the influx of patients. Hospitals may have been at or near max capacity, but what they didn’t have was 45 people in the ER needing a bed and more care than an ER could give because of the max capacity.

I live in NC, and every time I go out I see at least a 1/4 of the people without mask or mask worn incorrectly. You can wear your mask correctly all day long, but you better make sure everyone in your bubble is wearing it correctly too. If not, it is a mute point for you. If you go maskless around your family, then you are at risk more than likely.

Facts

This isnt popular, but hospitals dont make money when beds are empty. Same goes for the graveyards.

Hospitals don't make money when beds are filled with Covid patients, it has been an enormous money loss. Hospitals make money from surgeries, procedures, and advanced specialty outpatient care. They loose money with patients admitted for infectious disease issues like COVID.

In the midlands. Every time I go out I see at least 10 people with no mask.
I live in the midlands. My family is in town and all they’ve talked about is what’s reported about sc numbers and not wearing mask. Was just in Publix and made a point to find someone without a mask. None. Stopped at the gas station. None. Went out to eat this weekend. Everyone that wasn’t eating, mask. I’d like to know where you’re talking about so I can actively avoid. Thanks.

Are you talking about people outside?

@Superica28 i think it’s a pretty tough look to use the folks in these beds clinging for life as an example to troll trump supporters. I think Biden would be disappointed in you.

No acute beds in 4 hospitals in the state. That’s serious. Don’t end up like multiple posters that are now asking for prayers bc they disregarded all cdc recommendations

You're sick in your political head.

Counties are required to report both deaths caused by COVID and deaths among people with COVID. The current number of over 350,000 is the former, not the latter.

And that number actually undercounts reality. Excess deaths are actually higher.

but some people are so psychologically wedded to this conspiracy theory that COVID is all a hoax to get their Dear Leader that they STILL ignore reality and push aside the deaths of 400,000 of their countrymen.

Seems so odd that despite these rapidly growing ICU admissions that an alarming number of healthcare workers are refusing the vaccine.

it’s almost as if a vast conspiracy theory has been stoked by the president of the US, convincing a significant chunk of the population to act irrationally and put others at risk in the process

Gee. I wonder why they think that? The shutdown is a hoax. The virus is what it is. The over response to the virus is what everyone should be complaining about. It is a violation of everyone's bill of rights.

Sorta like the fake Russian Collusion conspiracy. Or the conspiracy to burn out every city and loot all the walmarts. Use social distancy to win an election. I know. We can make them leave so they can't witness us harvesting all these ballots that we know are illegal.

Quote from a front line nurse in a story that has been ran across multiple media outlets, both left and right leaning:

Some of her co-workers have also declined to take the vaccine because they’ve gone months without contracting the virus and believe they have a good chance of surviving it, she said. “I feel people think, ‘I can still make it until this ends without getting the vaccine,’” she said.

So if the front line are seeing first hand, the death and growing ICU presence (as it continues to be portrayed from media) then one would think they would be fighting amongst themselves to receive the vaccine first. You're suggesting they are bought into a conspiracy theory driven by Trump so they are refusing to take it?

There’s be a lot fewer folks clinging for life if Trump supporters would just take this seriously and stop putting others at risk.
It’s a shame you really believe that. I guess Europe and specifically the UK have more trump supporters than we thought. Grow up.

Why tf do y’all continue to lean into this pandemic being political. Op is on the booze. Yes this virus is real. Yes the hospitals are getting a bounce back per case. Yes it is dangerous. No you don’t have to stop living just simply be careful.
What happens when you have a completely unrelated condition (heart attack for example) and they turn your ambulance away from the nearest 5-6 hospitals due to no available beds? Good luck with that.

Did you mean to quote me? That would be awful. I haven’t heard of anything close to that but I agree it’s important that doesn’t happen. Fail to see how anything I said leads us to a road where that becomes reality?
My post was in reference to both sides on this board who either a) think this thing is made up or b) dig their heels in and blame every conservative for any covid spike as if there is anything profitable or unifying in taking that stance (not to mention the actual numbers contradicting that baseless stance).
Anecdotally every conservative I know, which happens to be a lot, has taken this deadly serious and does their part to prevent spread. We’re not all laying around enjoying this buzz we get from injecting Purrel into our veins.

how is there absolutely no reason or logic used when it comes to folks political slants anymore?

Well, the Russian Collusion thing was very clearly not fake nor a conspiracy considering that Mueller found copious amounts of evidence for it

From Time Magazine: "Mueller spent almost 200 pages describing “numerous links between the Russian government and the Trump Campaign.... Mueller also wrote that the “investigation established that the Russian government perceived it would benefit from a Trump presidency and worked to secure that outcome, and that the Campaign expected it would benefit electorally from information stolen and released through Russian efforts.”

As for a conspiracy to "loot all the walmarts" - you can bemoan the fact that some of the peaceful BLM protests turned violent (as I do), but where exactly is the conspiracy, considering every major Democrat condemned that violence? IF you're looking for conspiracies to commit acts of violence, you need to look at Trumpists.

As for COVID - if Trump had taken it seriously, as all of us evil libs were screaming for him to do back in March, he'd likely have seen his job ratings rise and won the election easily. It's a pretty shitty conspiracy that we made up that gave Trump the easy opportunity to win re-election if he'd just have done his job.

Finally, "harvesting all these ballots that we know is illegal." If you can point me to ANY evidence of illegal ballot harvesting to benefit Biden, I'll leave this board on the spot. But you can't.

Want to try again, goob?

Well, the UK is run by the closest thing to Trump in Europe, so it's not surprising that they are one of the few European countries to have more deaths per capita than the US.

Compare the US, at 108 deaths per 100,000 people to Germany at 42 or Canada at 43. They're doing more than twice as well as us.

I suggest you grow up and join us in reality, rather than just regurgitating Trumpist propaganda.

Yes.

That's all we're asking.

No one wants people to stop living. That's a bullshit, made up, right-wing talking point.

I want to be able to go out to eat at restaurants. I want my kids to be able to go to school in person. If everyone would wear masks and take social distancing seriously, then there would be a much better chance we'd be able to do those things.

But, as evidenced by this thread, there is a very loud minority of the population that insists that COVID is a hoax and that requiring people to wear masks is some kind of conspiracy to take away our freedom.

It is because of people like that, that COVID cases have spiked this winter and that my kids can't go to school in person.

Luckily, I live in a state with a sane government. When our positivity rate spiked out of control, Governor Polis instituted new restrictions that have turned the tide, and our rates are now declining rapidly. As a results, we're now able to start removing those restrictions and my kids' are going to be able to go back to school in person again next week.

I'd much prefer that this was never a political issue. That we had a president that took this seriously and rallied the country to act responsibly to help beat this virus together.

But, that's not the reality we're living in. Because Trump decided to make what should have been a non-partisan battle against a pandemic a political litmus test for his supporters, we're faced with idiots that continue to endanger the rest of us. Including my family.

So you will have to excuse me if I continue to be angry about such selfish and destructive actions.
