My kids are 8 and 3, my company has paid out bigger bonuses the last 4 years, I'm middle class and yet my taxes went UP under Trump, and my stock portfolio (IRA, 401K, etc) has gone UP the last 4 years.

I get I'm a minority here, but I absolutely am better off today, even with the GLOBAL inflation. I was in Germany 3 weeks ago and have had the same issues as we have.

OK Taxes went up because you made more money

My tax change under Trump was not due to more money being made.

My Pro-Trump father is a CPA and told me all along that the new tax plan would work out in my favor. It did not and he told me that I was in a weird group that got affected negatively by Trump's administration changing deductions, which made the tax plan unfavorable to me. (I frankly do not recall what exactly it was but I believe it was something to do with a property related deduction)

It's not a non-issue. Kamala isn't getting the female support she is because they are uninformed and listened to a commercial. Many of these women made up their mind when Trump's packed court took away the fundamental right they've had for 50 plus years.

And sure, Trump can't pass an executive order banning abortion. But if the Republicans take the Senate, as an informed female voter, would you be comfortable assuming that he would veto a national abortion ban (which Kamala would do, and would have 0% chance of getting 2/3rds vote to overturn).

There's a lot of talk about resume / record between the two candidates in this election. That's Trump's legacy, and he was very proud of it. Hid behind the "states' rights" argument for as long as he could--and now it's all about backtracking.

None of my responses are going to be surprising here, but I'm in favor of universal background checks, red flag laws and a go-forward ban on the sale AR-15s and similar "assault" weapons. Think most common sense people can agree on the first two. I get that the third point is more controversial (and I'm not advocating that those who currently own these guns turn them back in to the State). All that said, after 4 children and 4 school administrators we're killed in our community (which is blue in a very red state), our elected officials refused to entertain any reform at the state level, and instead said we would just arm our teachers as long as they had (no shit) 40 hours of training. So, I think some federal involvement is required here.

My response is that Biden’s cognitive state was clearly not one in which he could be a candidate. The party decided that Kamala was the best person to replace him, which I think is most inline with voters since she was part of his admin.

"babies don't have fundamental rights"? That was the point of Roe. Defining that line, at viability, as to when a fetus had rights in addition to the woman carrying it. We saw the initial disaster when it came to IVF after Dobbs, which was the initial cause of Republicans to turn course. And, to address the implicit question, no, I do not believe ensoulment happens at conception, and there's nothing in the Bible to support that position. Regardless, one's view on when life begins is a moral/religious consideration that (IMHO) doesn't give you the right to enforce your view on others as a matter of law.
