Judge that ordered deportations of illegals stopped…

How did we get that point? How did it get so out of hand that the federal government is having to deploy its massive resources to deporting people that we know are here illegally and have been for sometime? It’s the classic democrat move. Create a problem, then complain about the solution. Just don’t decide 20-30 million people deserve amnesty and SS benefits and healthcare with zero vetting and this doesn’t happen right? There’s two sides to this.
lol at blaming immigration solely at the feet of democrats. Dems proposed a bill that would increase funding for more immigration lawyers, more money for ICE, and more support for the legal immigration efforts to help expedite the backlog so people could apply and get feedback faster than a decade. Republicans balked bc they didn’t want to give dems a win and were salty there was no wall funding (stupid as **** to begin with.)

Undocumented immigrants don’t get SS benefits or healthcare, beyond life saving care.

The fact is neither side wants to “fix” it because it’s a good tool to drive people out to vote.

I believe this same law was used during WW2 to deport Japanese. Since this law was written 200 years ago do we also void the US constitution .
It was used during ww2 as an excuse to intern and deport American citizens of Japanese descent. It’s also viewed as one of the most heinous acts (Japanese internment and deportation) in our country’s history all because of paranoid fear of foreigners.

Before taking these actions, maybe Trump should find out what the law says he can or cannot do and follow that. Or ask congress to change/make law. And follow the appeals process to the end as prescribed by law. But that wouldn't be suitable to his agenda......

What about the people?

Attorneys general from 24 states file an amicus brief in support of Trump’s proclamation, saying their states are “directly impacted” by foreign gangs such as Tren de Aragua.

The brief complains that “a lone district judge certified a class of noncitizens in custody affected by the order and issued a nationwide temporary restraining order barring the Administration from immediately removing foreign terrorists, regardless of the threat they present to our citizens.”

One party opened the door. One party is sending them home. At this particular moment there’s one party at fault. I’m sorry you don’t see it that way. If they don’t let 30 million people in completely unvetted and provide them with CBP1 app and phones and money and all the other stuff this ain’t happening. This was an importation of what was hoped to be voters in the coming elections. It’s ridiculous, look at the states now requiring no ID to vote. They don’t do that in Vietnam. Why is it so important that illegals that are known gang members are given preferential treatment over citizens??

What's your point? What does the law say?

You're clearly lost in the sauce of your media consumption. It is a gigantic waste of time trying to have a discussion with you since you're not operating in reality.

What does it say about crossing the border illegally?

Crossing the US border illegally can lead to both criminal and civil penalties, including fines, imprisonment (up to 2 years for a first offense, potentially longer for subsequent offenses or if previously deported), and deportation.

Ok. Still, so? We've had the same amount, give or take a million, of ebb and flow across the southern border for over 30 years or more. And for hundreds of years, technically. Both legally and not. It's been good for America and our economy. And don't respond with any made up numbers from the gop propaganda machine.

This whole immigration thing has always been about ethnicity and giving you the "others" to hate on, and be occupied by, while the constitution is burned to the ground so we can worship a dictator. Am I being a little over the top? Yeah probably, but facts are facts.

Straight to calling people racist. Unreal. Pro worker, anti war, moderate socially is now equivalent to racism nazi worship. 27%.

The slippery slope was the invocation of the wartime Alien Enemies Act of 1798 as the basis for their deportation to a foreign slave labor camp. They used a made-up interpretation of the law to justify not allowing due process to play out and illegally sending them to El Salvador, without vetting.
Was the law to not enter the country illegal made up too?

There are laws and consequences. There are also tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that are already convicted of heinous crimes in other countries that are here undocumented. There’s also millions of Americans struggling to get by that don’t want to pay to house illegal criminals in fancy hotels. There is a river of fentanyl and children being trafficked across our open border. That’s great that you feel compassion for third world criminals living in our country off of taxpayer dollars but I’d encourage you to practice some compassion and empathy towards your fellow Americans that don’t feel responsible for taking care of third world criminals and don’t want to share a community with them. If you’re feeling charitable then I think you should use your money and time however you want to help illegal immigrants but the idea that we need to allow infinite illegal criminals into our country without vetting them and without any obligation for them to assimilate just to be nice is ridiculous.

It is what it is. You can hide behind ridiculous arguments all you want. Pro worker? If the jobs were being filled, then they wouldn't be available for immigrants to have. Guess what....during covid when there were fewer jobs, immigrant flow was negative. More left than came. Pro worker? As our administration works on destroying unions and returning us to the early 20th century caste system.

So its activist to say that the USA should give people due process? He's not saying release the dudes, he's saying they should get a hearing and our government can't just say these people are guilty without providing some kind of proof. If they don't like the ruling, appeal it, pretty simple, ignoring it is not our system. Undermining the judicial system because you don't like their rulings is dangerous. We already have a situation where congress has abdicated their responsibility so if the judicial system goes out what are we then? The Executive branch's own party runs the law making arm of the government. If you think this is bullshit, pass a law to remedy it.
If people are not citizens and are in this country illegally, they aren’t entitled to due process. They are sent back to which they came from.

You’re out for a run, and are grabbed by ICE. They say you’re here illegally and deport you without due process. According to ICE, you are illegal and therefore aren’t afforded due process. Enjoy the slave labor camp.

No one is saying anyone here illegaly should be afforded all the same benefits of citizens. But there is a form of due process for even people accused of being illegal.

This is a good example. Thanks for posting. In this example what is the proper and accepted protocol. If they have arrested that person as in your example can they be detained until their court date? What if like many of these cases the court date is years into the future? Does that alleged illegal now get released into the public until they can be given due process? If not, can they be sent to Guantanamo? If they must be released why should law abiding citizens be forced to share a community with them? If this process works as you say why did our immigration numbers skyrocket over the last four years bc one thing is certain, the Biden administration wasn’t sending anyone back following this process.

Has this happened?

Seems like a faaaaaaar stretch. I don’t believe it off hand. Likely leaving out a lot of details if so.

Proving citizenship should be easy.

He did it more than once. There’s tons of videos of him saying he’s waiving college loans and he dgaf what the SC says. The biggest problem I’ve had with liberals my entire life is that they are the absolute most hypocritical people on the planet.

I’m with you. Here’s what they’re telling you: a strong community member and construction worker, father of two is out for a jog after a long day on the job site. He goes home to his new house and decides he’s going to take a jog around the track at the local HS. There’s ICE agents hiding in the bushes waiting for brown people to appear on said track. Here’s the kicker tho. While the construction worker is doing his laps the ICE workers spring out of the bushes with pillow cases and drag him to an unmarked car. No questions, no let me see your ID, no nothing. They just kidnap these innocent, sweet, non-law abiding citizens with no repercussions or consequences ever. Straight from pillow case to airfield to slave labor camp in el Sal. And there’s absolutely no way it can be stopped, the evil ICE people are doing Satans will and they have to much power. Thankfully a judge in DC whose daughter happens to run a huge NGO as an advocate for illegals has circumvented our president and the majority of the country.

Tell me you know nothing about economics without saying it.

Your post: If the jobs were being filled, then they wouldn't be available for immigrants to have.

Rebuttal: you do realize companies goals are to make money. Labor is the number one expense for almost all companies. If I can hire employees that make blocks and pay them $1 why would I go and pay another person $50 to do the same thing. The illegals are the ones coming in and destroying the market for…. Wait for it…. WORKERS!!!!!!!!! What an idiot to not understand that most basic of economic principles. That’s why your entire side is a joke. Literally will say we need a $20/hr minimum wage and simultaneously clamor for illegals to be allowed to work under the table. Morons. I’d be willing to bet anything I own you have never done anything meaningful professionally in your life.

This exact point. I would always point out that if you got rid of the illegal labor that would raise wages for Americans. That makes liberal minds explode.

They counter "Americans won't do that work. Americans won't pick strawberries" Bullshit. What they mean is that Americans won't do that labor at that price. The price of labor is being artificially deflated by their own polices. Policies, like low minimum wage, they clamor against. They want their cake and to eat it too, while the taxpayer pays the cost.

I am not an immigration lawyer and won't pretend to know the actual process. But whatever it is, that is the law. It was an over the top example just to show why "due process" would be a thing even for someone accused of being illegal. You called the judge an activist judge earlier, but then apparently think they should be able to deem anyone illegal that they think without giving them a chance otherwise. There were examples earlier in this thread of that happening with this wave of people sent to El Salvador.

On the court dates years into the future, that was one of the main points of the immigration bill the GOP negotiated then squashed. It provided a significantly higher amount of judges, etc to help process things quicker. You agree that would be a good thing right?

Once again, you're making up a scenario in your head of what the argument of the other side is.

Agreed. I live in an area with a lot of strawberry and peach farms. I worked the peach farms as a youth. That’s tough work and I personally wouldn’t do it for less than $20-$25/hr. But if I’m a farmer and 15 illegals show up in a van and say I’ll do it for $10/hr cash I would be a fool to turn them down. It’s not that difficult to understand unless you’ve never been exposed to it. Which most liberals haven’t. They’ve been in their cities and colleges learning how smart they are.

Once again, you're making up a scenario in your head of what the argument of the other side is.
As much as you may think that. That scenario is exactly what most of you are describing. Bc the truth is those people are being rounded up and given plenty of opportunities to identify themselves. Again, if there’s not 30 million here illegally we probably aren’t having this discussion are we? Like, just do your job when you’re in office and the next admin want have to clean it up. Simple. Especially one as simple as: illegal entry > deport.

Just follow the law or have Congress change the law. Should also be simple.

Not really. They can’t even agree that women should have their own bathrooms. You think they’ll all the sudden get in line on immigration? Doubtful.

These are extreme views. Men in women’s bathrooms. Illegals being allowed to stay. You realize very few Americans agree with this right? Like less than a third.

For fun here’s a poll back when Biden was still in office. Read the poll this isn’t about deporting criminals. This was about ALL illegals.

It should be simple, but it is made very hard by the complex web of regulations. It is so difficult that a president claimed he had no authority to do anything about it, while the next president came in and did something about it in one month.

The litmus test going forward should be "Can Joe Biden understand it?" If not, back to the drawing board to dumb it down for the people.

It amazes me that the law can be interpreted so differently. Or maybe it amazes me that democrats allowed a demented person to be in charge of the office when he couldnt understand the law.

You're not arguing with me again. It's exhausting. Go Tigers, beat Mcneese.

It's a feature, not a bug.
Precisely. A lot of what they do is a semantic type shell game. They try and keep moving the goal post and changing the game. I think most of it comes from wanting to be contrarian. I was much more liberal as a young person because I hadn’t been out in the real world yet. I’d studied in Europe in college, I’d been exposed to the finer things but that’s not the actual world. That’s fantasy land. Columbia and Harvard are fantasy lands. Chicago is fantasy land. Liberals have no mechanism for operating in reality because a lot of the core beliefs are based on pushing one group down to elevate another. They don’t understand synergy and how things work they simply see something like a field dominated by a certain people and scream racism instead of asking why that group is dominant. They also are high in authority meaning they don’t have a lot of intuition so they follow their leaders. That’s why, for example, on here you have 10-12 liberals that are claiming they don’t agree with the party on trans stuff or they don’t agree with them on immigration yet they comply and continue to vote for them. It’s why Chicago is so laughable. That’s a liberal bastion. They had Lightfoot in there and she damn near destroyed the entire city. So the citizens get fed up and elect, another democrat who does the same stuff just worse. And this happens over and over and over and over and over. No ability to think for themselves. I’m not tied to trump. He just happens to be more in line with how I think the country should be run, like a business.

This should really piss some people off but I believe I saw a clip of Elon describing the verbiage used to make laws and he was explaining that it’s purposely vague and the language is selected specifically to be used so that different interpretations or interpretations of enforcement can be made. In other words it’s not black and white like it should be. In all honesty laws should be written where a freshman in college could understand the application, enforcement and punishment.

Here’s a great story from one of our allies:

The city of Berlin has been a major magnet for migrants, but instead of the economic boom promised, they are costing the state billions of euros. Now, the city is throwing more debt at the problem, which will be facilitated by the massive debt package passed by the Christian Democrats (CDU), Christian Socialists (CSU), Social Democrats (SPD), and the Greens.

No, I don't think there was a "show me your papers". They just arrested people. One guy arrested in Chicago is a US citizen. He said the ICE agents took his documents away from him so he couldn't prove citizenship. They have quotas to meet and arresting law abiding legal residents is easier than arresting actual criminals. One guy got kidnapped and sent to that slave labor camp simply for having a rose tattoo.
Lots of charges by you, Spencer_York, I assume you have proof for what you are saying other than what someone may have told you.
