Was in my first post. This stuff happens all the time in every state. Sure, it’s not that much money most of the time but there are always promises made to keep people from running to run the risk of losing the seat. Or in this case taking over the seat. Lake is just a drama queen.

It isn't that far fetched to think that they want her out of the way. She brings nothing of positivity to the table and is going to cause issues for Republicans in the race with her conspiracy theories and refuse to admit when she loses

He does say that it's edited and taken out of context. I'd like to hear the unedited recording,but I doubt she will release it, and he won't have it. He claims this is from a discussion 10 months ago. Why wouldn't she have released it then?
His explanation is not a good one. He does not deny he said those things, only that they were taken out of context. What he doesn't say is what context should they be taken in?
Also, he resigned because Kari said she has more recordings and she would release them if he doesn't resign. He resigned shortly thereafter. What does the have to hide?

That’s a great question. Politics is all about momentum so I’d guess it has to do with there wasn’t anything to gain 10 months ago but there is now.

There is a recording that is 7 minutes long. Not sure how much more context is needed. Although we would love to hear it if he wants to tell us.

I have no idea, there's plenty of people out there willing to kill. It could also be some bullshit threat that he made in hopes it would scare her into acquiescing.

It was recorded, we know its real. We know someone resigned due to the tape.
Do we all agree that it's important to get to the bottom of who it was? And if said person was connected to the Government this is a major problem? You would think the FBI would investigate, and i mean both ways. Investigate Lake to see if there were any shenanigans and set up. If it's a legit claim then someone needs to be held accountable and that starts with Dewit.
Either way, the people deserve to know the truth and whether or not the government is actively influencing elections.
Just because he says there are people willing to kill, doesn't mean it's a credible threat. It just means he said it.

Sure, we could listen to selectively edited and released snippets from their conversation, as well as completely disregard what the other half of that tape have to say about it. Then again, that doesn't fit the narrative you've constructed in your head, so...

If he wanted to clear the air, why not just let Kari release the rest of the phone calls? Then we could get the whole context. Instead, he resigned with a pathetic non-explanation. Hopefully she releases the rest of the phone calls anyway. Seems like the right thing to do.

Yes. The only reason that i can think of to not release the tape sooner would be to use it at a more opportune time. I wouldn't think now represent the most opportune time so it is indeed a little fishy.
None of that explains what is on the tapes though. Its very damning. This isn't republican vs democrat, they are both republicans. If he was doing the bidding of the government that should concern everyone, republicans, democrats and magas.
Why are you assuming he is doing the bidding of the government? I would assume the big money Republican donors don't want her to run. She has created chaos for them in Arizona and they don't like her very much.
She must be looking at the polling and seeing that she's going to lose her ass, so she's trying to raise her profile. If you read his statement, he made some pretty damning comments about her and this seems to be her SOP. She probably thinks this makes her look honorable but I don't see how it helps her with state Republicans since she forced the resignation of a huge fundraiser for their party.
