How bad do you think she feels about not taking the money? Like many in the gop, she thought aligning herself with bunker boy and his election stealing conspiracies was a winning proposition. America has already rejected that shit multiple times. When will @OleFastball realize he is backing a losing horse?
She'll end up regretting it when she loses the Senate race and Trump snubs her for VP. But let's not pretend like election denying isn't lucrative - she'll keep the grift going through November, and if past is prologue, she'll make even more money after her loss, just like she did in 2022 when her biggest donations came in after her defeat to Hobbs. Or maybe that's when it all dries up for her and she ends up with nothing. We can hope.

Right? She just lost a statewide election in 2022. MAGA candidates perform abysmally in swing states. Rs need all the seats they can muster in the senate and Lake is a likely loser. This isn’t hard to figure out.

It’s not that we want the government to influence elections. This is (likely) a case of the party just wanting a better shot at that senate seat. They know running a MAGA there is a total loser and hands the dem a senate seat in a winnable state.
Exactly. The National parties select who is going to run and get their support. This happens in every single election at every level. Let's say McConnell didn't want to support her, and asked the local person to talk with her and convince her not to run. The parties only have some much funding and they don't want to split attention, or have someone like Lake who will destroy the candidates who beat her after the election. They want no part of the crazy she will bring, and as @scotchtiger said, the MAGA candidates have been losing big in swing states and it's hurting Republicans up and down the ballots.
It's the underbelly, but not illegal, or really that odd.
This is also why many of us don’t want trump (at least one reason). MAGA is a loser in these key swing states. It kills the electoral college path.
People simply want the policies of MAGA. It's not going away even if Trump goes away. Not sure how republicans will deal with it, but there is essentially a 3rd party now.

Most of the policies are fine. But they need to be delivered without the baggage of Trump. And some of the Neanderthals he’s recruited to his ranks.
We need to be able to flush Trump and build back the brand of the party. It’s fine if a lot of the MAGA policies remain. But as it is, moderates, suburban women, etc are a lost cause and without them, you can’t win a national election.

He was the chairperson of Trump's election campaign in Arizona in 2016 which Trump won by the way (Wow... that would be been a good time for a Deep State guy to actually do something to bring Trump down... but nope.). Donald Trump tapped him for Chief Financial officer at NASA and he got confirmed by the Senate by unanimous consent. He resigned in 2020 and was hired as the chief operating officer of Trump's 2020 reelection campaign. That didn't work out but he was elected as the Chair of the GOP in Arizona in January 2023.
So this guy is Deep State? Really? I mean, wow. Trump picked him to work for him again and again. Trump really does get fooled a LOT by people for someone told everyone how he picks only the best people. Doesn't really make much sense.

But a bribe requires an intended payment for some action. Trump is not offering payment to anyone and therefore the definition of a bribe is not met.

Technically, a bribe doesn’t require monetary payment. Anything of value being offered (or withheld) would meet the definition of bribery. The onus would fall on the prosecutor to prove that a “maga membership” is sufficient
Im not OK with it if it is Governement money working to oust political oponents. If it was the deep state offering federal money to keep candidates off the ballot i have a problem with that. It is not the governments job. They do not have the authority to spend money for those purposes.
